The Farmhouse Inn Restaurant in Uttlesford

Only came in for lunch so can't comment on the rooms. Food & service were top notch however. Had the Steak & Guinness pie which was really tasty and chock full of steak. Served with fresh carrots and tasty chips. All washed down with a cracking pint of Mighty Oak ale. Shame I couldn't stay for an afternoon sessions. Lovely place, great food, great beer, great service. 👍

Lovely place for you to rest for a day or two. Though some won't appreciate the middle-of-nowhere location, others might prefer the solitude and beauty of the countryside. There's a pub/restaurant downstairs where you will have a good time with other guests (there isn't much else either in the immediate vicinity :). Staff is friendly to the point you get to know their name if you want to. Rooms are very good price to quality ratio, bathtubs and all. Recommend that you arrive by car but you can easily walk from Thaxton as well, there's more than one route for those who don't have a car. Bus goes by also. Lovely decorations.

Very comfortable bed. Room got what u need an good size . Electric fire very tatty. An bathroom toilet button flusher not even fixed on the system, just sitting outside unfitted properly very crude, not a good image, I works no problems but first impression is that it's broke. Certainly not fitted or wrong size for job

Quaint little pub, well kept beer and great views!

Stayed over night for just the 1 night was very dated and could do with some work in the room. Shower was pointless needs looking at. But that being said price was good for what we had and the bed was very comfortable had a great sleep.

We love this place. Located conveniently for Duxford and close to Thaxted and beautiful Saffron Waldron. The rooms, although a little dated are spotless and great VFM. The food is amazing and the staff are even better!

Oh dear this place is poor! The rooms are from the 70s and desperately in need of refurbishment. The landlady needs some manners as I passed her in the entrance and tried exchange pleasantries but got a grunt. And the bar shuts at 9:30! Really!! Never again will I stay here…

We felt very welcome, the roast dinners were tasty and lovely desserts too. Our 2 year old enjoyed the food too and loved being spoilt by Sylv. We will definitely be back again

A nice pub old fashion pub, no jukebox, fruit machine, personalised service with a smile from local people. Clean and welcoming with personality and old fashion charm.
