Teething problems in the kitchen apparently. Long long wait for main course, cancelled desserts (how long does it take to serve ice cream?) disappointing

Great food and service, only recommendation would be to play some music to create atmosphere.

Had a lovely meal here whilst staying in dunmow. Really tasty pork. The red pepper and tomato soup was delicious. Good service .

Came on Saturday evening for a meal , food was amazing as usual and although we were in the marquee outside food was still really hot , staff were lovely, helpful , chatty and professional. They have done their best in the situation with a marquee with carpet , twinkle lights and patio heaters . Had a great time and cant wait for them to fully reopen ..

We had lemon sole and liver & bacon. Both cooked to perfection! The lobster sauce is devinely full of flavour, and the liver is tender and succulent. The chicken liver pate was a touch too bland but the relish made up the flavour.

This is my 'in-laws' favourite and they generously take us for lunch. It is consistently high quality with a varied menu of classy dishes. The cutlery, the real napkins, great service, excellent wine menu. This week we took advantage of the September discount offer but it's worth every penny without.
