Food came out cold, well most of it anyway, the peas were raw, fried eggs were overdone and cold, as were the chips, and I had to ask for more chips, as 11 wasn't really enough for an adults meal. Fish was nice. Really shouldn't have left the kitchen on the state it was.Hadn't been there for over a year for food, as it was shocking then...it hasn't changed.Maybe need to employ some kitchen staff who actually give a s##t and retrain.

A very good Wetherspoons. Was busy but service was quick, staff were friendly, food was good. It was clean, nice garden area too. No complaints and would definately go back when next in Saffron Walden.

A little hidden away which is good as quite small for a town that can get busy. Has a large garden area. Service was slow but assume it was just a bad day. The food was good as you expect from wetherspoons and great value.

Was spending a night in Saffron Walden, and had a drink at a local hotel. Was nice enough, but ventured down here to go a bit cheaper. The beer garden was big and full, such a good friendly, busy buzz. There was no hint of trouble, you could get drinks delivered to your table within 10 mins if you wanted, and we had a brilliant evening there. People mock the experience of a Weatherspoons, but it was cheap, friendly, clean and full. Great time.

Located along the Main Street area… good value meals and drinks available! Really beautiful historical building to look around and the pub also have garden seatings at the back. Nice and lovely staff during our visit

Great old fashioned establishment to have a drink or a meal. Traditional English breakfast and unlimited coffee for just under £6. Although own personal opinion is black pudding is essential. Curry club is also worth a look

Have eaten here with my parents twice. Scampi and chips was excellent and the staff really enthusiastic and pleasant. For the money you can't go wrong. Food way better than many other country pubs who charge double for essentially the same menu.

Excellent value and very clean. But not posh but still has a nice relaxed atmosphere to eat with family and friends. Its good value dining without snobs watching each other and is far better than the keys which is overpriced substandard food and service.

The staff were brilliant, very friendly and couldn't do enough for me. The food I had was OK . It may sound petty but the only problem I had was the lack of choice in the condiments. They had the standard red , brown sauce, mayo vinegar and salt and pepper but that's it . I would go back again though
