Only popped in for a quick drink mid dog walk. Nice to see it open now as it has been closed often in the past when we have walled to Manuden. Nice welcome and beer thanks. We will return.

A very pleasant hotel, it was great value with comfortable rooms. I didn't eat there but the food looked delicious. The room I had, didn't have a shower but a bath with loads of hot water. The only let down if I was picky would be the WiFi that kept kicking you out.

Room was clean, warm, quiet and comfortable. The welcome was very warm and the pub food very good. Downside was the lack of breakfast included in the price, and the building was a little shabby, but overall we were pleased with the convenience for visiting family in Bishops Stortford, the attractive village, and the friendly staff.

Well where do i began, when we first arrived we was told are rooms was not next door to each other which we booked two rooms and booked rooms next door to each other because one of are party was disabled and needed rooms together? rooms had No chairs in them so no were to sit But had a table in one room?? Was not Happy because of website we booked from said it has breakfast for a price? But was told they dont do breakfast? Rooms needs upgrade because looking tiled and new kettles it was old and not cleaned overall the only thing that was good is were it is beautiful part the countryside beautiful village if they updated their rooms and add breakfast i think it could be a stunning place to stay and be more organized would i stay again No would i visited the area YES

Extremely disappointed and here is why. Firstly and foremostly the other punters were amazing. Got to meet some local dog walkers who were extremely friendly and my wife and I were made to feel very welcome. Downside. Prices are extreme to say the least. £38 for burger and chips. Fish and chips and 2 soft drinks. The meals weren't as described either. Burger was meant to come with coleslaw. None available when challenged. Fish and chips was also said to come with mushy peas. Came with peas but not mushy. My wife was also presented with another tables bill £44 when trying to pay. Luckily she noticed and saved the £6. Personally I think the pub is very good for the locals who probably stick to what they know, but for passing trade the pricing is outrageous in my opinion. Harsh but true. Hope the proprietors take note

The restaurant was not open at the time of our stay, it doesn't open on a Monday or Tuesday. This information is not shown on the booking sites. If we had known that we would have booked elsewhere for our one night stay before an early morning flight, there are plenty of other accommodations available that would have been more suitable.

My daughter was staying for a month for a placement at the local hospital. The staff at the Yew tree have been extremely and made sure that she was comfortable, safe and very welcome. She had a choice of rooms and we ate in the pub each week. The staff knew us by name. Louise in particular was so welcoming. A great little pub and hotel.

The room was clean, the shower hot and the bed linen crisp and fresh. The service was friendly, the atmosphere in the pub warm and inviting and the food delicious. I would stay again.

The place is very quiet and comfortable. There where a couple of issues. 1. The TV in my room didn't work for which the landlady was very apologetic and offered me a drink on the house. 2. I had no control over the heating in the room. From the Monday afternoon when I arrived to the Wednesday morning my radiator was on full blast. There was nobody around for those first 2 days as the bar and restaurant didn't open until 5pm on the Wednesday. That is when I found out that the heating is solely controlled from the bar, then from the Wednesday to the Friday the heating was off during the day and only came on in the evening and through the night. Apart from that the people where very nice and friendly. The food was excellent.

A lovely pub- great beers and good food- set in a beautiful historic village. The staff could not have been more helpful and welcoming and the locals were very friendly. Both the pub and hotel are very dog friendly. The rooms were clean and comfortable. We had a great stay at the Yew Tree: we'll definitely be back!
