Codland Fish & Chips in Watford

Expensive but worth it. I had a large cod and chips. The cod was big, a bit oily and dry at the end but overall okay. The chips were the best I have tasted in Watford. I have had this meal across Watford and it was expensive here.

Update , quite a few meals since this first review. Not had a bad meal ever from here. Fresh, tasty hot and always served with a smile. A frequent stop for us for a treat. Great fresh and hot food. A good choice of items from fish to kebabs, pies etc.. The staff are helpful and friendly and there is always a queue on a Friday night.

Not great, too oily batter and staff obviously roasting customers behind their backs in their own language.

Went on a Friday evening, incredibly busy but they were so organised….we queued, ordered & left with our fish & chips in under 20 minutes. Great food, hot chips, crispy batter on good fish. Fabulous!

One of the best fish and chip places around. They do not skimp when it comes to the portions of fish. Also do excellent kebabs.

Where can i start. This has to be one of the most divine establishments i have ever visited. The chips were cooked to perfection and the regular cod was mouth wateringly good. The prices are extremely reasonable compared to quality of food. If you ever have a crave for quality fish and chips then this is the place for you. Workers are very polite and the kebab is also very tender.

It is a great portion size. It is also great food as well. The staff are friendly and the place is always clean.

Brilliant fish and cod roe was perfect best I've had in ages. Chips lovely . Couldn't fault any of it .

Went for a walk, fancied a portion of chips, bought them, ate them while walking. Lovely, crisp and tasty....just the thing for a winter's walk snack. Will try a larger meal next time.

Tried this chip shop out after a friend recommended it to me. It’s great. Really good sized portions and a knowledgeable owner. Told me about the new season potato’s they were using and gave us some new fish bites for free to try out as they were new on the menu. Will be using Codland regularly from now on
