Angel Inn Restaurant in Waveney

I know the Angel quite well having briefly lived in the town. It is very well run & the staff consistently helpful & friendly. Having never stayed I can't comment on the room standards, but have enjoyed numerous meals, snacks and pints over the last nineteen years. The restaurant (Cleones) seems to run as a separate business within the pub/hotel and has always produced excellent Italian dishes as well as the usual pub grub. You can eat in main bar too, and there is outside seating. The Angel has its own free car park & there are two public car parks within a two minute walk. Hope this helps.

Only 4 stars to room only because dull to windows facing building next door but room itself very good will be using hotel again very soon great breakfast selection

Staff were very polite and helpful. Nothing too much trouble. Food in the adjoining Italian restaurant was superb. Room was a bit jaded but fit for purpose and the shower gel was the best I’ve used in a hotel. Would recommend.

We have just had a lovely meal at the Angel. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and service was very quick and efficient. Would definitely recommend.

An exceptional meal. Service was really good and felt very personal even though quite busy. We particularly enjoyed the Tiramisu. Definitely home made and surprisingly light. Definitely recommend.

Been here a couple of years ago and thought that the service was dreadful. Don't know if they have had a change of owner but they went above and beyond to give us aeal out of serving jours. It was absolutely delicious and great vfm. Will visit again very soon

We had a busy week and was even working Sunday morning so treated ourselves to dinner at The Angel. Staff welcoming & friendly that provided table service. The food itself was presented nicely and nothing was left on the plates at the end of the meal. Overall a very nice experience which we would 'recommend to family and friends.

Had breakfast here this morning. Two poached eggs on toast with smoked salmon...was delicious, the eggs cooked perfectly. The full breakfast was yummy too 😃Two girls serving us were lovely and polite.

Let me start by saying that I am not one to usually leave a review but having gone for dinner with my wife on the back of the many reviews we read online, we were left speechless. We ordered a prawn and tuna pizza. There was one tiny ex-frozen prawn, no visible tuna at all but a huge amount of plasticy tasting cheese. I can’t even call the pizza average, it looked, tasted and was awful.The single waitress service began well but it seemed because there was only one other occupied table, she continually disappeared behind a screen behind our table and didn’t seem to realize that we could hear her every word discussing personal matters with a gentleman who later I introduced himself as the manager.A real shame.Ps. We were still charged the full amount which we paid.

Another wonderful four night stay for me at this family run hotel and restaurant. Rooms are always very clean and comfortable, the food is excellent and all the staff are very friendly and helpful. The hotel has its own car park and is conveniently located just in the main street of this very old interesting town with many individual shops.Tremendous value for money with a very warm welcome. Thanks again to all the team and see you soon.
