Lovely venue and atmosphere. However they also have undertrained staff and overpriced food for what you get. Stood at the door for a good 5 minutes waiting to be seated with staff walking past and no acknowledgement which set us off on a bad note. The service was slow which the manager did warn us about saying they were very busy and there would be a wait but the restaurant was only half full. Not impressed with the steak at all, was unable to cut through and hardly ate any of it but was still charged full price. The lemon cheesecake was amazing though. Unfortunately we won't be returning.

I'd been here on my own several years ago and found everything to be excellent. I was looking for somewhere to book to take a good friend for a birthday lunch that she hadn't been to before. Due to us both being cautious with Covid rules, we were more than pleased with social distancing, temperature taking and mask wearing from entering the reception area and throughout. Staff were pleasant and efficient, we weren't rushed, menu excellent as was the food, couldn't fault anything. Good prices too. My friend loved it and felt safe and will definitely be returning. Beautiful rooms and lodges if you want a nice relaxing stay. Well done to all. Kathy D, Norfolk.

Lovely food, fantastic setting but I didn’t know if only one person and use the till at one time or staff didn’t know how to use it. Manager didn’t seem to care that there was a massive queue at bar. Bit of a fart in a trance.

Lovely place set in a nice quiet area, however service and food is a bit hot and miss. YMMV.

Looked nice Location nice, we popped by in the afternoon for a coffee, we sat down had a coffee and tea to peruse the evening menu, as we was going to eat their that evening, the doors were left wide open and it was cold, staff were moving chairs around banging them around dragging some forgetting there are people there, and the service was sloppy not a great impression. So we decided to eat elsewhere that evening.

Had 3 visits over 2 days. Nice venue but slow service each time and some of the staff were a bit clueless. Sunday lunch was a disaster and had issues with the food. Tried to charge full price even though they failed to serve half of the kids meals and after we'd complained! Desperately need better trained staff.

Excellent staff, food always first class and lovely location whether it's afternoon tea, evening meal or a formal function.

Terrible experience, firstly asked if we want to keep our coats because it's so cold...' takes a while to heat up'. On receiving our meals things got worse, the vegetable fricassee, turned out to be boiled veg (the same used a the side for other dishes) with some black pasta and some white thin tasteless sauce (not the rich basil sauce on the menu listing). This bizarre dish came with raspberries and two salads, one either side of the plate?! Raspberries appeared on our salmon starter too?!... A serious mash up of odd items. When I enquired about the strange dish I was told 'well the menu's changing tomorrow'.Our puddings too were not as described, cream instead of ice-cream and no hit of lavender in the lavender fondant.A thoroughly disappointing experience.

Attended CoC event for 200+, very good food, good service and lovely venue. Service at bar a bit slow, needed more staff here.
