Golden Fish in Waveney

I order once a month a large order of cod and chips for an over 60's group and they all love the quality and amount of food they get for the price lovely people and fun people who serve a really lovely place.

Absolutely horrific, i went today (29/3/22 for lunch, first visit and the last, i bought two of the lunch time sausage meals, the gravy was microwaved in a tub, and was like jelly when i got back to work with it, the batter on the sausages was crispy on one side, soggy on the other, and well over cooked, the chips were just badly cooked , brown on the outside yet hard on the inside, i like to salt my own food, this was obviously not allowed, the two women serving were just yapping, yap yap yap to each other constantly instead of concentrating on serving, the whole meal was greasy and didn't smell good at all, the seagulls ended up fed even if my workmate and i didnt.

I don't often write reviews but if a fish n chip can't cook chips or batter and charge good money then I am left with little choice but to share my disappointment. The chips seemed to be blanched only, ie not cooked. The batter was bizzare, not fully cooked really thin and soggy. The curry sauce was a thick blob and lacked flavour. Overall not good sorry, I won't be returning or recommending it.

The food here is my favourite, the spring rolls are better than the ones I used to get previously. Their is some great lunch time deals, and I just love the getting off cheesy chips (my favourite 😃).

Wow wow and wow!! Amazing and well priced. Lovely staff. They also take card which is a bonus! 1000% recommend.

The pensioner meal is very good value, it is £4.50 for a sensible sized fish and chips. Cooked from fresh, so a slight delay, there are some benches and a few tables within walking distance, over looking the sea, who could ask for more???

Very long wait for food. Couldn't put my own salt and vinegar on it, but had to have what the server put on instead.Have to wait outside in the rain, until number called, but they were doing phone orders before waiting customers.Chips tasted nice, when I finally got them, but not worth the 45 minute wait.
