I have spent many years of my life overseas and have sometimes struggled to find decent Indian food in the UK but, I found it here.The staff are always friendly and willing to offer advice on dishes, the dishes served are always excellent.We visit this restaurant regularly and always enjoy our evening.Great food, polite and friendly staff. If you are in Beccles this restaurant is a must.Negative reviews can seriously impact a business. Every time a negative review pops up on Google searches, there is the potential to lose customers. 86% of customers hesitate to purchase from companies with negative reviews. Negative reviews ultimately have a cost on the business.Before you post a negative review do the decent thing and speak to the business staff directly. Do it the right way.

We've been ordering from this place for years and for the first time ever they had forgotten something in our order. The food was bland and not as tasty as we know it be usally be. Very underwhelming. Sad that the food came out as it did. (We do not have covid) sadly I do believe we won't be ordering from here for a long time.

Came here for a birthday meal, was sat next to a group who were being extremely loud and when asked politely to please keep the noise down a bit as our table couldn’t have a conversation the group became abusive, the waiting staff came over and asked us to move tables to which we did, the group making noise then became abusive towards us which completely spoilt our night. The manager then came out and said there was nothing he could do and that they ‘can’t ask anyone to leave’, we then decided to go as the group were still being abusive and attacking somebody in our group who has a disability, the waiter then became threatening towards us when we said we weren’t paying for our meal as they had completely ruined our night. Terrible handling of a situation which left us all with a disappointing night, the starter which we did have we had to wait an hour for and it was average.The food hygiene standards are also poor and it is rated just 2* requires improvement

Absolutely shocking disaster of a meal with an aggressive staff member and a manager with no backbone. Our evening out completely spoilt by a larger group in the restaurant with one particular person hell bent on causing trouble. Such a shame. All that was needed was a bit of courtesy to others trying to hold a conversation and couldn't hear each other speak over the excessive noise. Just no respect for others. Manager admitted they didn't want to remove the abusive people because of the money he would lose so automatically others had to suffer. Agree with other comments on here, they only seemed interested in the larger parties and taking way too many takeaway orders and restaurant bookings to manage. Definitely won't return. Hygiene rating isn't great either!

This is a regular haunt. Very underrated for how insanely good the food is. Hands down beats anything in Norwich (and we've gone out of our way to try every single Indian restaurant.)

Really good food. Have been several times on a Sunday evening and usually have one of the set meals. Always a good atmosphere and seems to be getting more and more popular. That's most probably due to the fact that the portions are massive, the prices are really low and the food is special. Would have given five stars but (and probably should have) they were a couple of waiters short due to illness.

Greedy restaurant accepting more and more telephone orders whilst restaurant customers have a ridiculous wait. We arrived at 7pm, got starters about 7.20pm and then still hadn't had mains by 8.45pm. Nobody came to clear empty glasses or plates etc. from the table. No apology and when we objected when a table arriving later was served before us, the rude waiter said 'Well you had your poppadoms didn't you'. When the mains came, they were flavourless and they only offered a 10% discount. If they are finding themselves swamped, they do have the option to stop taking any more phone orders. But instead they greedily keep accepting them, making both people in the restaurant and collecting takeaway orders wait for ages. It was a terrible experience, waste of money and the staff are rude. Don't go here.

We went to Suffolk for holiday and looking for Halal restaurant near me. we have discovered “India Gate”, Beccles, Suffolk.I have found it is one of the best Asian / Indian restaurant in the city.The food was excellent and the menu was concise with enough choice to satisfy most tastes.The atmosphere is very cosy, with nice design and intimate lighting. And, the staff are lovely and can help with the menu. The price is very reasonable too. Staff are Exceptionally friendly and polite.

Fantastic food. Great service. Very welcoming and friendly. Value for money food was full of flavour. Presented well. Definitely go back. Best Indian I have had. Lovely atmosphere.
