A great choice on day 1 of our Suffolk break! Great beer, great food, lovely, friendly staff and locals. All, in a fine, old building with lots of character! Cracking!!

·

A really tasty meal! We arrived with our slightly nervous dog and sat in the area where dogs are allowed. The staff giving her a treat was a massive help to calm her down and the meal was delicious!

Being local and regularly having a great dining experience here I'm not quite sure why I've yet to leave a review. But today went above and beyond when after calling at late notice to book a table 02/01/22 we were advised the restaurant was fully booked but we could try for an un-bookable bar table so we decided to take a chance. Within 5 or so minutes of us leaving we were called by Kyle who had dealt with our original call to advise that a table had become unexpectedly free in the restaurant if we would like to book. Can't beat that for service! And we were very grateful as when we arrived bar tables had been taken. So thanks to Kyle we got to enjoy a usual delcious meal, today, Steak, cooked perfectly medium for my son, trout for hubby and delicious game and red wine open pie for me and delicious desserts too, would recommend 100%

Lovely place and been a few times now to catch with friends but the last time they couldn't do any teas, coffee and hot drinks.. This was right at opening times.. We ask if the had a kettle for teas but a flat NO...so I guess we had a soft drink each and moved on within 10 minutes (we always stay for some more hot drinks and food.. Yet felt this wasnt an option... Hopefully next time they can do hot drink and be a little more friendly??Shame as we really like the bell

Great service, prompt and friendly. Interesting menu, would visit again! Veal croquettes were great! Fish pie was good but pastry unnecessary. Halibut was lovely though risotto was a little overcooked for my liking.
