Great "Olde Worlde" pub. Good selection of beers and spirits. Friendly staff. Lovely location with a roaring open fire. Can't wait to revisit.

Great little pub that we stumbled into on a very rainy boxing day. Very busy but very accomodating. Great atmosphere and really friendly staff. Good selection of beers.

In difficult times we were given a warm welcome in this lovely pub. Rammed on our visit on Saturday afternoon but managed to get a table. Guy behind bar very friendly. Good Ales, Adnams of course, excellent mulled wine as well. Well done.

Interesting pub, a lot of seafaring memorabilia, good choice of Adams Ale's. Great little place. Would visit again.

Been a favourite. In fact probably my personal favourite pub for many reasons...location, atmosphere, beer and on occasion food all been excellent over the years...a place to warm the soul and shelter from the sea breeze in winter or refresh and quench a thirst in the summer months. It never changes that much which is fine by me. A English gem!

Visited early on Friday evening. Great! - nowhere near as rammed as previous occasions and loads of space all around the bar. Still, no seats left so we had to stand BUT despite all the room we were then told not to stand at or near any part of the bar which basically means standing right next to people sat at tables. Then we were told not to even put our glasses down on the bar as it would "only encourage others to congregate around the bar" - so how do we eat our peanuts - with our drinks balanced on our heads? Then we were asked to move again and stand in front of a blazing open fire that was like a furnace. No smiles, no explanations, just robotic instructions from miserable robotic staff. So we drank up and left, like a few other people given the same treatment and who we bumped into again later that evening. Having said so many nice things about this place to the rest of our group visiting Southwold for the first time we messaged them to meet us elsewhere. Not sure whose policy this is but we didn't encounter such nonsense in any other pubs. If you want a nice pub atmosphere don't bother going to the Lord nelson.

Old fashioned pub servings Adnams beers and wine. No food service at the moment. Visited early on a Monday evening and pub was already busy with what sounded like regulars. Good atmosphere, people chatting and the fire had been lit. Nice old pub, near the seafront, recommended. Could have done without the anti- vax sticker under the mirror in the gents toilet. No allocated parking, dog but not wheelchair (its an old building) friendly.

Lovely to be able to sit and drink at a pub which is not serving food. Plenty of room for drinkers! Of course an Adnams pub, this is Southwold! Five draft beers on site, all tasted excellent. I did have a Rye whiskey chaser. Very enjoyable. The pub has a front room, and a small snug on the side seating 8 in two tables. There is an musing set of cartoons by the Norfolk cartoonist Tony Hall.To the right of the bar, past the loos is an outside seating area. Missed this on entry, but we were happy in the snug area to the left of the bar.

Lovely pub with a great lineup of Adnams beers! We enjoyed are stop in a few years ago and looking to our return.

A little day trip in southwold and we stumbled across this great pub.. Very welcoming atmosphere which is always nice. Staff are really helpful and easy to talk too .. The food is slightly pricey but you definitely get a quality bit of posh pub grub. On site herb and chill garden in which they use with all their cooking which personally I thought was amazing and really enhances the flavour... The pizza we ordered tasted delicious and the loaded fries was definitely loaded. I like the fact the pub has kept its original character and does not come across as a over the top gastro pub.
