Really friendly, attentive staff, sat outside at the front. Dog friendly. Loved the pods, had a peak inside an empty one, they look so cosy.

Attended for a surprise birthday party yesterday which was very enjoyable due to private pod we were placed in. The lighting, music and general aesthetics were very impressive for a small family celebration. The menu was varied and food was brought to us in an orderly amount of time. The service from Michelle was fantastic and very friendly.

I was taken here for a surprise birthday meal. 10 of us sat comfortably in a large pod. Other sizes are available. The pod offers lighting that can be changed via a remote control to suit mood or occasion, heating and a Bluetooth connection so you can stream music. The food and service were excellent. I will definitely be visiting again.

We went here today what we thought would be a lovely Mother’s Day Sunday lunch but it turned into a disaster, where to even start! the starters was lovely we had garlic bread and prawn cocktail! Two of us had the lamb roast and two had the Turkey roast but oh my god it was vile the meat was pressed meat wouldn’t even feed it to my dogs, the veg was watery, we paid an extra 50p for Yorkshire puddings which was frozen, two of us had pancakes for pudding but even that was okay but wasn’t the best! the waitress we had was lovely and helpful after we complained! The manger was very argumentative and even threw the receipt at me after i complained! we only got charged for drinks which was £22! overall we would never come here again, worst Sunday lunch we have ever had.

Enjoyed an excellent meal last Saturday, now want to go back and try more dishes. My dad recommends the gammon & the lamb gets a huge thumbs up! Had a table in the restaurant and the service was friendly and attentive. Other big plusses were Gem beer on draught and the food was really hot when brought to the table. In future we want to try one of the outside pods. Thoroughly recommended.

It was alright, not an explosion of flavors but good. I'll go back to try something else from the menu.

My first visit to this pub and impressed - there was a friendly and happy atmosphere in the place despite the weather with v helpful staff - we enjoyed a well cooked roast dinner with good selection of vegetables - the range of beers and cider was impressive too

Was pre-Covid when we last came here. Still a great little pub out in the sticks at Shustoke. Always busy so turning up for food on spec and expecting a table is not recommended. Best to call first. Ample parking at the rear which, oddly, includes a aviary filled with (mainly) budgies... and a rabbit! The food and service are still generally very good but the roasts have declined since before Covid when the meat was carvery style cuts, now its thin slices school dinner style - still good but not up there. It is a quaint little pub with a nice atmosphere in a great rural location opposite the reservoir - The previously working red BT phonebox outside is still there but I think it's home to a defibrillator now. Useful. Outside there are also private pods available for booking, again very useful in these paranoia driven Covid days.Prices are reasonable. Still recommended certainly - but best to book ahead. Only real negative, no WiFi.

Cosy village pub that serves good pub food at a reasonable price. Decent choice of food and drinks, including kids menu and some non-meat options. Dogs welcome in the bar area.
