The Trawlerman Chip Shop in Waveney

Went in Friday last. Nobody in at 1 o clock but we had been previous years on holiday and found it good.When our fish and chips finally came the fish had skin on it and bones which we can't stand. The fish was undercooked and the batter hard and chewy. We left most of it. Never again.

Was really impressed with the food. The batter was delicious, crispy yet melted in the mouth. Chips were delicious, not greasy and not undercooked or hard. Just perfect! Lovely staff too, felt very welcomed (we ate in) and were very friendly. Overall a great chippy! Will definitely be back!

I can't understand some of the reviews on here. I visited today and recieved such a warm welcome and friendliness from the staff and manager. The food was absolutely lovely (as promised), and I can honestly say it has to be the best fish and chip shop in Lowestoft....or Suffolk, even. Will definitely visit again.

Maybe settling in period yesterday (new owners) but my shopping experience was not good ! When I got back to the office everyone commented that they were not up to the usual standards. I’m usually in and out within 20 mins but yesterday was waiting at least 45 mins. Chips were not ready and therefore not coordinated with the rest of my order which was left in the warmer cabinet for about 20 mins and almost cold when eaten. The server apologised for the fish cake when wrapping to which I said why what’s wrong with it , she said that she was told to say that there is an issue with the fish cakes !! She didn’t tell me that when I ordered one. The chips when ‘ready’ were barely cooked. Threatening phone calls were going on in the background which the owner refused to answer stating that he was ‘too busy’. So overall not good and we’ll seriously think about whether to return !

Such a shame this changed hands recently and has gone from superb to disgusting in a matter of weeks. Been in tonight and hard overcooked, grease soaked chips and extremely greasy sausage. Curry sauce was near enough day-glow orange. After being a customer here for over 8 years tonight will be my last visit.

First time at the trawler men chippy today and I've had to write this review! Ladies and gentlemen stay well clear!😱 I waited 45 mins for 3 portions of chips 3 sausages and what they call a medium haddock! I don't think they have ever changed there oil the chips where the colour brown and tasted vile! The haddock was the size of my four year olds foot and was as thin as a piece of paper! £4.75??😱 Also tasted vile the box that it came in was full of grease and the boxs don't even shut properly so on the way home my cream carpeted range well???? How this business stays afloat is remarkable lol take my advice pls pls go else we're!!!!!

1 for the chips that's being generous. Fish (if that's what it was) tasteless. thin. Grey white colour. Seemed like frozen not fresh. Plus a long wait. Really disappointed total waste of money.

Chips were very poor. Hard and crumbly texture. Far better off going to Gibbs or South Pier.

Without doubt, these are the best Fish & Chips for miles...! Unlike many other F&C restaurants/takeaways the skin is removed prior to frying. So... For all those who would ordinarily leave skin on their plate... You have no concerns. Beautiful eaten in or taken out...

£6 + just paid for the worst fish and chips I've ever had. Greasy fish and greasy chips, disgusting! After failing to eat all of this terrible grub I'm not one to leave snotty reviews but this is truly awful.
