Super cute cafe/bakery! We came across this bakery as we were walking along the street, and the pastry displayed at the front definitely caught our attention. We got a sausage roll, croissant and a Portuguese custard tart (sadly we didn’t take any pictures as we were busy devouring) and it was so fresh and well-made. You can definitely tell it’s homemade.

My first experience at 2 Magpies in Southwold ended in a 150% assurance that I will ONLY be going there for my cappuccino & a 'treat' from now on. The ladies there are just absolutely the loveliest EVER 😊 . I had spilt my coffee all over myself but all they were concerned with was ME & if I'm okay and a new cup was placed in front of me straight away. Never too busy to have a quick chat (I'm a live in carer & it gets lonely) I had tried 3 tea rooms but once I had been to 2 Magpies I am no longer interested in trying anywhere else. They are THE BEST ... as well as the delicious pastries, breads etc. Thank you 💗

Amazing service. Coffee was delicious and served just how I like it with options for extra shots and oat milk. Staff had been given the day off so the management were (just about) ‘running’ the place but they were doing well and the service was definitely with a smile! 😂 Breakfast was cooked to order and delicious, everything was served in a reasonable time and prices were ok. Only a handful of seats inside, so choose your visit wisely. Thanks for everything folks

Wonderful welcome coffee! Xiamen bun. Rhubarb and ginger frangipani. Superb bread! A carb lover’s paradise ! Have booked sourdough pizza and salad. Glad we don’t normally live too near lol

Been coming here for a fair few years now. This place has been here 10 years now, it was the original but it has expanded across East Anglia. And as usual as companies get bigger the quality goes down, coffee is by allpress, which is a top notch coffee roaster but I've had better coffee from here in the past. It could do with a refurbishment as well which is what their Norwich branch is having at the time of writing.

Good bakery and coffee. Would be 5 stars, but the cauliflower was hard and not edible today.

This place always has a huge queue. I was disappointed with the quality of the baked goods because they were mostly lumps of doughy bread with minimal flavour. They can't heat food and on a cold day it is best to go elsewhere in Southwold. It is very popular but I wouldn't recommend.

Fantastic range of cakes, savouries and bread. Tasty range of sit down food as well, the breakfast we had was excellent. Very good coffee. Staff were cheerful and friendly.

Mini salmon quiche was dry & leathery pastry was too thick. £4.95 take away price was too steep for this amateur savoury bite. I can get a better family sized quiche in M&S for less. What happened to your artisan bakery skills today ?

A little bit disorganised and it took a while to get served. But I think this was really down to the numbers of people entering. The food was really tasty, surprising combination and fantastic ingredients. It was a little bit frustrating that they don’t have V’s to show what is veggie. I used to expect this in the early naughties but not these days. Small change on the menu would make it better for us veggies.Anyway, great food. Lovely staff. Nice coffee.I do feel bad for the staff, loads of people enter and buy takeaways, then sit in and eat/drink their purchase. Quite rude considering how popular and small the place is.
