Brookmans in Welwyn Hatfield

From start to finish a whirlwind experience, upon entry was greeted with charm and charisma by a flamboyant, charming red headed waitress, she sat us down and was attentive and recommended the squash superfood salad,(delightful). We then had schnitzel and my husband had the wild mushroom ravioli delicious.

Hi thereI have been to the Brookmans pub in Brookmans Park many times and have always received fabulous service and food whether it’s breakfast with friends or evening meal with my husband. It was especially good during lockdown when we where able to sit outside with heaters and blankets to keep warm.So I was very disappointed on Saturday 9th April when I arrived for breakfast with my eldest daughterWe placed an order for two teas and when these arrived we placed our breakfast order of sausage roll and poached eggs on toastAfter chatting and finishing our teas we noticed 40mins had gone by without our breakfast arriving so we called our waitress over and explained the situationShe then went to the serving hatch and came back and told us “oh yeah it’ll be about 5 to 10 minutes”no apology for the delay or explanationI then said that we would have some more tea and possibly as a gesture of good will the teas could be on the house to which she agreedAfter waiting another 15mins our breakfasts arrived only for my eggs to be hard boiled instead of poached!!By this time I was completely fed up and called the waitress over and sent it back and said I didn’t want anything else.She then came over and told me she had removed my eggs from the bill and wouldn’t charge me for them!! Considering I hadn’t eaten them I felt this was the least she could do!!My daughters sausage sandwich was perfect and she was very happy with itIt won’t put me off going back but I feel I should let someone knowThe restaurant wasn’t busy in fact at the end we where the only people inside and I have worked as a waitress myself in the past so know that at times orders can be misplaced or forgetful but I also kept my customers informed and most importantly apologised!!

Absolutely superb. Compliments to the chef, perfectly cooked food. Excellent service. Enjoyed my Birthday lunch. Definitely returning and have done so.

Just wanted to thank Becky for being very helpful and efficient. A couple of weeks after a lovely family meal and great staff at the Brookmans two of my guests received parking tickets. I called Becky who was so polite and helpful. She cancelled the tickets without a problem. Highly recommended. Food and staff 5 stars!!

Started off great. Front of house was a very funky looking girl. With tattoos and piercings. She was lovely and friendly. Food service was great until it got to desserts where we sat waiting for someone to take our order. We ordered 3 bannoffee desserts and were served 3 brownies and I e cream shoved in a glass. My partner and his sister were very upset. The poor waitresses had to explain the chef didnt ha e the ingredients for the banoffee dessert do gave us this instead. As we have worked in the service industry before we know this is not the correct way of dealing with these issues. Desserts were taken off bill so no worries. Was just a shame . Apart from that the staff are super lovely. And the restraunt is beutiful

Absolutely amazing place. Great atmosphere, great food. Friendly helpful staff. Clean toilets. Great veggie and vegan options. Drinks are lush.

Fantastic Sunday Roast here today, very efficient service and friendly staff.

Fish and chips were lovely, but most of the items we wanted weren't available. Limited menu, we weren't even offered daily specials board to look at! Which we would have chosen from. We only noticed it at the end of the meal propped up against a table. Like warm coffee.

Very friendly staff, beautiful location, great outdoor space. Liked the blanket and cushion on each chair. We had capucino, few soft drinks and some deserts. Deserts were absolutely delicious. 4 stars, is for the capucino served with no spoon. Once I have asked for a spoon, I got given ( with a smile) a long desert spoon. Ups.

Good quality food with friendly and helpful staff, a great choice for Sunday lunch
