Great varied menu, friendly staff.Wine prices bit steep, £8.50 £8.80 250ml.I guess that's where we are going.Definitely recommend this place.

We live in Devon but whenever we come up this way we go to the Cowper Arms because the food is so good. Sunday lunch this time - don't have breakfast 🤣

4th visit June 2022 - not withstanding the large Rats on the terrace, having moved inside ordered a pizza which when ordered previously was a delicious stone bake, this time was no better than a supermarket tasteless frozen item. the steak is best described as mediocre , and the larger seemed watered down. when complained the staff seemed uninterested. not a good experience and if standards do not improve would not recommend to anyone.

We can highly recommend The Cowper Arms. The staff are always very welcoming, the service is fantastic as is the food try the Sunday roasts but your need to book. There is a selection of beers wines and other alcoholic treats to temp you. Beer garden attached is great for a long slow afternoon / evening in the summer sun. We'll done to all the teamTim & Karen

Sunday lunch sadly was terrible, processed food, poorly served, waiting simply ages for our food, if I wanted mass processed Sunday dinner? I’d have bought it from Iceland. Sadly for me? This ranks as one of the worst Sunday lunches I’ve ever eaten.

I went for Mother's Day dinner with my sons. Meal was certainly nice.Crisp roast potatoes, at least 6 different veg and the lamb was perfect.Would recommend. Thank you Cowper Arms

I have to say the food was nice and so were the people. Unfortunatly what spoilt it was how LONG it took. They weren't even completly full. Our mains took atleast 30 to 40 minutes and so did two childrens chocolate brownies. It is such a shame as otherwise we would have loved it.

Mother's day Sunday roast.Nice food good portions, just slightly expensive for a pub Roast. £95 for 3 adults and a child. Can't fault the food though.

I loved that there was a vegan and vegetarian menu and the sentiment behind it (written on their website) - basically, try something yummy. I liked that it wasn't fake meat heavy too!We ordered the tapas deal and a burger, which was frankly too much food for two people, but it was delicious and a special occasion.I really liked how well spaced the garden was and there was a nice atmosphere throughout.I'd recommend it here.

Sunday roast was fantastic. My wife had the Nut-roast which she said was very nice. She also ordered cauliflower and cheese extra. This was a large portion that was big enough for two.I had the mixed roast which was a very big portion with an enough Yorkshire pudding on.The food comes with a plate of vegetables. The food was extremely nice and plenty of it.Good friendly service with staff coming around to make sure everything was ok.Attentive good service. Nothing to complain about. Overall good experience.
