Lovely old pub with friendly staff.Beer not cheap but tbh is you have children the Secret Zoo is great and well worth them extra.

Good atmosphere, 16th/ 17th C building.pub from 1700s....was a monks residence and a Sunday school in its day . Nice selection of ales and food is good quality. In reasonable walking distance of old church ruins and the more recent Georgian version...v interesting

We used to come here before lockdown, visited many times and always enjoyed it but after a good few years we decided to make the jaunt back, 35 min drive for the most boring ploughman's weve ever had and the wine wasn't up to previous standard either, not convinced I got the wine I asked for as didn't taste like it. Maybe its a one off but I don't think you can normally go wrong with a ploughman's, it wasn't really alot more than a cheese salad sandwich spread over the plate, no coleslaw but when I asked I was brought some but it was awful, really gluppy and tasteless and I also had to ask for butter for the bread. Staff very nice but food judging on this trip very disappointing sadly.

Lovely pub except very sad to see a lot of beautiful parrots and birds trapped in a low and small cage in the pub garden. What a contrast to the beautiful wild birds in the surrounding natural environment. My advice would be to free them. I cant bring myself to come back to support this business until something is done to stop this cruelty.

Treated my husband to an overnight stay and dinner for his birthday. We both like little quant places and found this the perfect fit. Our stay was lovely, dinner was lovely. Staff are the nicest of people, very helpful, chatty and very hardworking. Could not fault it at all. Would highly recommend and definitely will be going back. Thankyou so much Kelly and all the staff there 😊

Gorgeous traditional English country pub. Good food and drink, warm welcome, beer garden and plenty of countryside walks nearby. Recommended.

·

Nice old-fashioned pub with a pleasant garden. Food was very nice. Typical pub food prepared very well. Friendly staff and good service.

I was treated to a Mother's day meal here with my family. Staff very friendly and down to earth. Food was of the highest quality. It was no ordinary "pub grub" well worth a trip down country lanes. A garden and play area with animals was a nice addition for my youngest too.

·

Great country pub with very good food. Two large garden areas with mini zoo and children's play area. Wonderful large fireplace with roaring fire in the winter too. Present restaurant area in amongst the beams and history.

Amazing service and the lady who runs the pub is fantastic, completely understood our needs. Atmosphere is very welcoming but also lively. Dog friendly, and very good quality of food for the total billed. Decent selection of drinks. Be aware that it gets very busy on Sundays.
