Visited for a small family meal during the week and was instantly impressed by the calm atmosphere. We were greeted by friendly bar staff, specifically Sophie who went above and beyond to make us all feel welcome. 10/10 experience, would definitely be returning. :)

Amazing pub in the heart of Welwyn garden city. Was here recently and sat on the sun soaked terrace, the sun covers the terrace from sun up till sundown. We also had a couple of burgers that were to die for. Honestly one of the best pub food I've had in a long while. The Staff were awesome and super attentive. We had the best day, thanks to the whole team involved to make our visit so lovely 😁.

Had lunch here with my mum! Dan was very accommodating to all our needs. The food was really tasty, atmosphere has really turned around in the last couple months!

Lovely pub right in the town centre, decent sized beer garden too. The drinks are reasonably priced and the variety of food on the menu is quite good. Beth and Amy are both amazing staff. Both very friendly and accommodating. Would recommend to anyone for a quick lunch or dinner.

Well situated. They never seem to be empty. Various beers and a couple of pool tables but I've never managed to get on one as they are always being used. No garden out back but small garden to the front with heaters etc. I'm sure they used to have an upstairs where they threw music events but I'm not sure about that nowadays.

Quite a quaint setting and a good old fashioned English Pub. Food is good, however, it took a while considering how dead it was. Furthermore, when we ordered a dessert; the Afternoon Tea Cheesecake. It came out frozen. They had obviously forgotten to take it out on defrost the night before and tried to amend this by microwaving it, as it came out on a warm plate, with the ends slightly defrosted. But to end on a good note. The mains were we good and very tasty. Also reasonably priced.

Updated my review after 2 further visits & having a much improved experience with the customer service. Not sure if there has been staff changes or training given but a big improvement and seemed fair to reflect that in adding an extra star.Staff were friendly and the food arrived quickly. My only gripe was the lack of menu options - the food I selected was my 3rd choice after being told that they didn't have any pies or fish options (was ordering at 3pm on a Sunday).

Nice pub in the middle of the town with a little bit of history.Warm welcome when we arrived from the bar staff who are really friendly. We ordered starters and a main however when our initial starters of Nachos arrived they were barely even warm. Yes I realise that cold toppings cool the tortillas down but not to the point that they and the melted cheese is cold as the chef claimed when we complained. However the barmaid took our food away immediately and it was replaced swiftly with a well cooked alternative and even brought me the change difference.Main courses though were lovely.Small point to mention, when you pay for parking take your ticket with you as it's redeemable at the bar.Lovely pub, great staff.

This pub used to be good, but this last visit was poor. The priority is very much the regulars that go there, you will always be served last. Having menus at the table was frustrating because 80% of it wasn't available to order. Slow to bring out food, staff not coming to check if your okay or want anything, having to ask for cutlery, not clearing tables (resulting in us taking glasses to the bar). The food when it arrived was fine, just the portion sizes were a bit on the small side, especially the chips (credit where credits due the chips were perfect, but just too small a portion). The bar staff aren't very welcoming & the locals aren't either. Overall I found the experience extremely frustrating & I won't be going there again until I hear it improves.
