Great pub in a sleepy village. Loads of room to park. Lots of room to sit inside or out. Food was lovely (and reasonably priced) and the staff were knowledgeable & friendly. Good section of drinks, highly recommend.

Fantastic pub. Set in a beautiful location with serene views and a lovely garden with many different areas to relax in. Interior is welcoming and very well decorated. Dog bowls and water provided. The staff are excellent and very friendly, and there's a good selection of beers. We had the battered cod and chips - accommodatingly outside of kitchen hours - and it was beautifully cooked, the chips were especially good, with a lovely touch of mint pea puree & sleeved half lemon. Been twice now, and i can't fault anything here.Thoroughly highly recommended.

Our first visit here after walking past it on so many occasions. Great little traditional old cottage style country pub hidden away in the Hertfordshire countryside just off the Alban Way walking / cycling trail.Amazing beer garden, very quaint inside, with old beams etc.. Food was excellent and reasonably priced, kids menu's also provided. Beer was very well priced and all in all a great visit for our family. If you are walking along the Alban Way and wanted to stop for a quick beer or a bit to eat then I would definitely recommend this hidden away gem.

So good! The food is absolutely amazing the staff are stop on and the setting is divine. I would highly recommend this pub.The bread and beef dripping butter is wonderful. I cannot compliment this place enough

Kind of in the middle of nowhere but definitely worth the visit, the whole place is so spacious and well planned out. As the pub is more food focused there are many tables to sit at and separated rooms too. The garden is, in my opinion, the best part of the pub, its beautiful and well lit. Whilst The Plough has recently gone under new management and there is a lot of progression to still be made (such as an enhanced cocktail menu, which I was informed was in the making) I was thoroughly impressed by the pub.

This place is the best food at a gastropub I have had in a very long time. Owen our host was amazing, the dishes were beautifully presented and tasted incredible! You couldtell the team are serious about the produce and their cooking techniques made this meal a Michelin experience for a very reasonable price. It was a special occasion and did not disappoint! Will return as soon as we get the chance.

Excellent Lunch! Really enjoyed our visit. I am unfortunately v fussy, but every dish brought out was really very good. Cured salmon starter, with hazelnuts, inspired. They cure it there. The other 2 starters were great too. Chicken main, with creamy polenta, again, excellent. Chicken can be such an average main, but this was really good. Desert of sticky toffee pudding, good, stilton with a waffle studded with olives, again v good. Highlights were the starter and the main. Unhurried waiting staff, the chef obviously knows what he is doing, It wasn't cheap at £150 for 3 x 3 courses plus drinks, but it was worth it. So often meals out feel like 'I could have done better myself' for me, but this was very good. Only comment, a blind on the window in the restaurant would be good as the low sun was uncomfortable so we had to move around the table a bit. Loved it though!

First time in several years I'd visited the pub and it had changed inside, had a modern distressed gastro appearance to it but looked good. The prices I found were quite brilliant, now I didn't eat but £4 for a pint is great in this day and age when the prices of everything is sky rocketing. The staff were lovely, never stopped working from what I saw, taking orders and delivering drinks, and as soon as a table was empty it was cleaned and disinfected. But the 'star of the show' was Aaron behind the bar, he was great to talk to and made you feel very welcome, a fantastic chap. Nice one Aaron.

Under new management with a new kitchen team. Their lunch menu was delicious and perfect for my birthday lunch. Welcoming, knowledgeable staff and a good selection of drinks including the alcohol free options. Easy dining with a baby and a dog in tow.Enjoyed the beef shin taco, buratta with salsa, beef tartare, and the ploughman's.
