Pretty much perfect place. Outside area very well thought out and inside has a fine dining feel about it. Food was excellent and although this is an odd comment..so were the condiments..by Stokes. My burger was spot on, bit stingy on the fries though. Partner's crispy duck salad excellent as well. It is a pub too..and nearly ÂŁ6 for a pint of lager is a bit steep.

Very nice, very good service, great menu and exceptionally well thought out design to the interior. Very nice garden as well. We only had mains duck salad which had plenty of duck and the dirty burger which my husband says was one of the best he’s had.

The 2 stars are for ambience , location and the very polite and attentive staff. We had high hopes of having good quality , tasty food. Unfortunately , it did not live up to expectations. Starters were cold, frozen prawns ,undercooked scallops that were very salty. The chateaubriand was so overcooked it was it was hardly edible, but we were hungry and it wasn’t cheap so we ate what we could. We requested it to be medium pink with no runny blood. It was a sacrilege to ruin such a good piece of meat. What come with it was so bad, mushrooms ,onions and chips were cold soggy and lacked any flavour. Sufficed to say we did not risk having desserts. Such a shame, this could’ve been so much better.

All the staff were extremely helpful, courteous and accommodating. Stephen, who served us at the table, was particularly great. The food was superb and arrived promptly. Our youngest son has autism and has an extremely limited diet. Although there were four of us at the table, he never eats and more often than not is largely ignored by restaurant staff. Today he was made to feel an important part of our party by Stephen who was amazing with him. He gets impatient and struggles with lots of things but he was made to feel very welcome, which we were all very grateful for. We all had a great time.

Nice pub, what you would expect from a red lion. Food menu is larger than most. Burgers, classic mains, scallops, burgers, pizza and steaks plus the healthy salads and main options too. There really is a lot to choose from. I tried the koftas for starters. No picture, didn't really deserve one if I'm honest. The salad was nice but was sort of plonked on the plate. The kofta was dry and was actually just 3 meatballs on sticks. Forgot my sides, the crispy pork belly was OK. The fish and chips were good. Nothing overwhelming or outstanding. Supremely average however there was a very good bar keep! She was young and lived on a boat. She's a star, very good service. I shall return just to see if the menu should reach as far as it says! I really hope it does as its such a lovely pub.

Prebooked a table for a Sunday roast for two.We were sat down on a table for four in a very high traffic area next to a till where empty glasses, cutlery were dropped and waiters knocking the chairs next to us when walking past us. The worse of it was the staff (mainly one male who appeared to be a floor manager) clashed a load glasses together and dropped a load of cutlery more than once that pierced your ears. When we requested to move to another empty table (considering there were two other tables with four seats) we were denied and met with a response that they were reserved for other diners - even though we reserved a table. the quality of service at this point already poor with their blunt response, they didn’t care. We waited over 40 minutes for food to arrive. The roast dinner was a let down too (considering one was nearly £20 and the other was £16). The gravy the food sat on was burnt. Everything it touched on the plate tasted with dominating burnt flavor and smell. Veg was very little with a single thin carrot and parsnip and the stuffing was a serving size of a large olive. Feel disappointed about the whole experience and likely to not return.

This place is lovely. It's a great easy location for us to meet with friends. Comfortable, clean and stylish setting and the staff are very helpful, friendly and attentive. We were a table of 5 and the speed of service was excellent.Food was great tasting with a good selection on offer.Wide range of drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, with cocktails and mocktails also available.Car park with big enough and I've never had a problem parking here.

The food was great and the waiters were very friendly. Location about 30 mins walk from the town centre. If you don't like walking better to drive there or take a cab.

Took some of our local clients here for an end of year lunch and it was lovely. Christmas decorations looked so nice, and the open fireplaces really make it cosy. Service was excellent and we had a great table - nice Christmas touches. The waiting staff were very friendly and efficient even though the place was really full! (Good on them for getting it all done smoothly.) The food was great, and a good mix of 'pub grub' and restaurant-style choices. Would definitely recommend.
