The Wellington in Welwyn Hatfield

A meet up with friends for a midweek lunch. First time visit for me, was not disappointed, food was wow i had the ribs. Really nice atmosphere staff were very helpful and not in your face. Relaxed and great food, best lunch I've had in a long time.

Great food , lovely service and very helpful staff. I was surprised the quality of the steak for a restaurant in a this little quiet town. Flavour and cook was superb. Their Pie looked and tasted superb too.

How Disappointing - went for Sunday lunch with the family of 8, had previously visited pre COVID and was impressed with the rustic restaurant design and food. A few of the details, Starters 3 x 50p size Scallops. The anticipated advertised Sirloin Beef Roast dinner was two narrow thin strips of beef, red around edges, (strange) smoke flavour and chewy; I returned this and was advised it was sirloin strip and cooked for a long time! Another meal the Rack of Ribs approx 17 Cm's x 8 Cm's, dismal main course portion. My 'Sirloin Beef' meal was changed for a steak, small cut into 5 small thick pieces with a small portion of chips in a tin vase! The restaurant was quite empty at 1.30pm, but service was slow, one of the main meals fish & Chips arrived 20 minutes after the others. I note other good reviews and these are mine, I hope the management appreciate the feedback are made with good intent; but won't be back.

Everything was great. The mushroom brûlée wasn’t to my taste but the rest was very well cooked. The live music creates an amazing vibe. You should definitely eat here during Sunday between 5-7 for live music.

Popped into this busy town pub for brunch. Food was mostly good and any issues were resolved quickly. I didn't like the coffee much but everyone else did!Service style was unhurried which suited my Sunday morning. Staff were very professional and wearing masks but the table was sticky however I don't think this would stop me visiting again.

I popped in for a quick coffee when I was quarter of an hour early for a meeting. I cannot describe how poor the service was. I ended up paying £3.35 for a lukewarm coffee in a takeaway cup. Absolutely disgraceful, the young man making the coffee couldn't have been more insolent and surly.

The food served was not hot and it should have been. It was basically rehashed leftovers with poor taste and texture. The steak was presliced, under cooked and tough as leather. Very disappointing. The venue was good. The service was fine. Just rubbish quality food. Shall not return.

Very good food but a tad expensive.Two cask ales on at reasonable prices for the area.Visited on a Monday lunchtime. Busy but not too crowded. Car park full after we parked though.Great efficient & friendly service.Will be back.

This was our first ever visit here. Staff were incredibly friendly, food was served quickly and was absolutely delicious. Only reason I didn't give 5 stars was the toilets downstairs weren't working properly. Other than that it was a great dining experience

So disappointed for the third time of going. The menu had lovely looking dishes on it and delivered cheaper ingredients to make up their profit.Small portions and unfortunately not good value for money.Not going back again and disappointed that the live music on new year's Eve stopped at 11pm and then nothing until midnight. So we went home were we should have stayed from the off savings £64.95 each for a less than average meal.
