Went for Afternoon Tea and the scones and the cakes were amazing. One of the best I have ever had (and I have had several). Would definitely like to return one day.

Unprofessional and hostile. We called before hand to inform them of a member of the party was not attending and it would just be 5. When we first entered the cafe/tearoom we were greeted rudely by the lady called Bev who before we even got a chance to sit was beckoning from the kitchen area explaining that she had been up till 6 to work on our order and we would be charged for the extra plate in front of other guests in which we agreed. The person who’s birthday it was felt bombarded and embarrassed for this; but she then proceeded to talk Ill of our party which was in ear shot of our table, The front of house team were also rude and ignored us from the beginning they didn’t explain anything at all about what would be included but acted as if we should already know. Then with the surprise of more guest coming in greeted then as if they were total royalty. The tea and bits was then brought over with no explanation of what anything was or wasn’t. We continued our experience in discomfort throughout until we have had enough and wanted to leave;Overall I would not recommend this place unless you are looking for a hostile, rude and lack of customer service; I would avoid at all costs.

Cosy looking tea room with friendly staff. I made a quick visit to view potential for a return trip (just after lunch in a neighbouring village). The selection of cakes was enticing enough that I will be back. I bought a mint aero brownie, which was delicious.

As an afternoon tea lover I have eaten in many tea rooms in my time so far. This place is a little gem which would not be out of place in a busy High Street but instead is tucked away on Datchworth country lanes. The setting is warm and cosy and had a lovely atmosphere when I walked in. I had the soup with cheese scone and I have to say,as well as the soup being delicious, it was the best cheese sconeI've ever had. I then had a custard cream blondie cake which was hard to choose out of the amazing looking selection of cakes. It was divine accompanied by my tea. I highly recommend this place. Everything homemade or homebaked.I can't wait to have my sons 1st birthday here.

Really enjoyable tea and cake stop! Lots of teas to choose from and lots of cakes. I had a gluten free Victoria sponge, and my husband had a chocolate and black cherry cake. They had a few allergy options including gluten free and vegan. Cosy atmosphere and the staff were friendly. Highchair was available for our 9 month old. They weren’t doing sandwiches unless you had booked an afternoon tea in advance, but we saw some come out and they looked great. Would definitely return!!

We enjoyed a very good pot of tea with vintage cup, saucer and milk jug. I had a medium smooth flavoured pleasant Americano. We can recommend the coffee and walnut cake and the raspberry and white chocolate cakes.Good value and generous slices of cake. Pot of tea for one person was enough for two cups. Americano was a generous size.Atmosphere, decor and service excellent.
