Alandas Fish And Chip Shop in East Lothian

We had mushroom pizza and a calzone, both freshly made and extremely good. It is a nice, clean and up-market take away at reasonable prices. Great! Always order and collect, do not use the home delivery service (awful cold soggy chips after a tour of East Lothian).

I ordered a delivery 25/02/22 and about an hour later I phoned to see where my order was, the manager answered and was extremely rude and said we are busy your order has just gone out with the driver, I live less than 5 minutes away from them by car, so 25 minutes later I phoned to see why my order hadn't arrived again only to be snapped at by the manager who told me that they had try to deliver it but no one answered the door, I told him that this was impossible as we had been looking out for the delivery. he then got on the phone to his driver who then phoned me and asked for my address and said oh I tried to deliver it to a different address, I'm about 15 minutes away ill get it to you as fast as i can.I was really annoyed by this point and i phone for a partial refund as i knew that my food would now be told. The Manager was EXTREMELY HOSTILE AND RUDE and proceeded to say that the food was coming back to the shop and he would give me a full refund, i asked him could i place the same order with him and come down and get it, to which he replied no it will be another 45 minutes before i cook it and put the phone down on me.honestly that is the WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE i have ever experienced and i will never go back, the most frustrating thing was we had to go somewhere else to eat, but because a refund takes so much longer than a transaction i am now out of pocket until the money arrives in my account

Extremely poor fish and chips. Visit on Sunday night at 6pm. We noticed that it’s changed ownership but we thought give it a go. When we opened the box the top layer of batter came off fish in one sheet. It was so dry and extremely poor quality the whole meal.

Lobster roll with Parmesan and truffle oil fries were delicious from their street food menu. Super satisfying and filling too!

Got two fish suppers on sat 22 January around 5pm and the quality of the fish and batter was extremely poor the batter was brick hard and the we could barely find the fish in it. Sorry but I was expecting much better. If you’re advertising quality you need to deliver it 🤷‍♂️

Not worth £19 fish and chips. Greasy and very oily chips not cooked properly, lots of small pieces underneath. Only fish was good. Overpriced and not reccomended.

I came into this place because the decor looked great and the restaurant was very clean. When a place looks like this you know the food will be great. I proceeded to make a large order for a large number of people but they had specific dietary requirements. The server was not aware the food we ordered does not meet our dietary requirements (not his fault, not many people ask for it) and neither did we so I was just about to pay for this huge order. Next thing one of the chefs or the manager (not sure to be honest) came quickly to inform us the food does not meet our requirements and we should cancel the large order after he learnt of our situation. We could have been served the food and we wouldn't have noticed any difference but he chose to let us know the reality of the situation. We proceeded to cancel our order but I truly appreciate the honesty of the staff and would have loved to try the food. Definitely would trust these guys to serve great food.
