Smeaton Nursery Gardens and Tea Shop in East Lothian

Had a lovely lunch today at the tea rooms. This tea room, which is incorporated into the nursery garden business, is well run and the food is very nice. Specials of the day offered as well as standard menu items. Even though I did not have a cake/desert, over 5 options, also to choose from all looked nice and fresh.It seemed very popular with locals and tourists alike. Was recommended to us by the local NTS guide as a good option for dining in the area.Recommended. Service was good, staff friendly and as indicated very happy with our meals.

This is a very good nursery garden centre indeed....probably the best we have been to. Great selection, informative, knowledgeable and friendly staff, well-ordered and beautifully cared-for stock, and a nice cafe to boot! Add to that a beautiful estate open to walk through, and you have an excellent day out, and if you are looking for inspiration for your garden, you will definitely find it here.

Nice garden centre lots of plants and pots, cafe with inside and outside seating both covered and uncovered. Large carparking area with walks.

Really impressive variety of plants with lots of mature and well established plants on offer. Particularly impressed with the variety and choices of tree available, best I have found in the Lothians. Also a lovely little cafe which served up a very tasty lunch

Lovely cafe with plenty of food and drink options. Service was prompt and staff were really nice and polite. Its proximity to the John Muir Way makes it a very convenient place for walkers to stop for a grab, especially on a wet day like we had today.

This nursery is a fantastic place for a visit, after a drive on a single track road through a very well kept private estate you come across the secluded nursery, well stocked with your seasonal plants and very helpful staff. Then you find a brilliant little eating place. And may I say having eaten there on numerous occasions we have never been disappointed. Really worth a visit.

Beautiful plants, flowers and trees they are selling. Their staff is very friendly and very good prices for each plant. They even have apple trees.

Well stock plant range and cosy cafe with nice cakes and soup and snacks. Lovely location and can walk from here into E Linton. Handy for Phantassie Mill visit too.
