The Walled Garden in East Lothian

Good place to visit with family. Small walled garden (admission £4, kids free) offered not much to see this time of year, but I’m sure it’s lovely during the summer. Shop has lovely products and cafe excellent selection of cakes.

Food is good. Nice cafe and shop. Good play park. It's a pity that it's self service now as its too tricky to hold an 18 month old and a tray and watch a 5 year old.

Really nice area on the road to North Berwick with shop, cafe, and garden centre, free parking close by and has a nice walk for the family and small kids getting to see the fairy houses. The restaurant has a nice park attached with plenty for the kids to play on and burn up some energy.

OK, so we only poped in for cake and tea whilst walking the John Muir Way and liked it a lot. Brownies are from Mimi's Bakery and they were incredible. Chai latte was nice, although a bit small. And the venue is lovely. However, it's a bit pricey, so be prepared to pay for it. Would visit again, certainly.

Spacious cafe with a good menu. Very child friendly. Gardens are beautiful and the fairy walk is great fun. It's lovely to see deer roaming freely.

Impressive walled garden with lots of plants, love how they have mixed fruit and veg through flowers and trees. There's outdoor seating at the cafe / garden shop. Also a Fairy walk through the woods, great for the little ones who have their own door.

What a wonderful place. Popped in for a quick coffee. Wish I'd had longer to stop for lunch and have the delicious looking gluten free red pepper frittata and salad (£10.50). Tables were well spaced for Covid and hand sanitizer provided. Staff friendly and helpful. Lovely colourful handbags and big choice of gift items for everyone including children. Plants very healthy. Plenty of parking including disabled spaces next to the entrance. I highly recommend you visit soon.

A great find in East Lothian, if you are looking for something a bit different this is the place to go. Lovely shop to suit everyone and a cafe inside. Great place if you have children as there is a fairy trail. I've lost count the number of times I've visited. There is no way admission fee into the walled garden which is payable in the shop.

What a great place ! We were walking the John Muir way and came across a sign for Cake ! We made our way in to a very well laid out and run buisness. Clean and tidy very clean toilets and dog friendly. We could not have hot food today as they were not serving hot food so went for the Cake option. Very nice Cake and nice Coffee. We had a stroll around and brought a few items.My only negative is a charge to go in to the Walled Garden. Personally I think this is a mistake and my partner and I both said if it was a donation we would have both gone in. £4 must put a lot of people off so I very much expect a donation would bring in more money over the course of the year. We noticed about 6 people look at the price and walk away. I very much expect if all 6 had gone in with a donation that would have been at least £12 -£14 in 10 minutes. I think they are missing a trick. Not going to deduct a star as it’s a great place and would go back but £8 is a little steep.

Lovely place and surrounding area and very clean (with no dog mess around). Kids liked looking for fairies and saw some deer as well so that was entertaining. Cafe as they usually are...was a little overpriced but very nice 👌 . Would recommend.
