Great bar and restaurant being up from Dundee for over a week I found this pub which reminds me of my local back home. Great food 👍.I was gonna give this a 5 star but on one visit I already paid my bill and as I walked out a staff member asked have you paid you're bill infront of other customer's.Pretty embarrassed.

Any visitors to Edinburgh should put this place on their list of venues to eat at.Before the Covid The Abbey was s favourite eating place of mine.I visited last night after a 2 year absence and enjoyed a very nice meal. The menu as changed a little but still offers good quality dishes, well prepared and presented. The Abbey has a large selection of Whiskys from practically every distillery in Scotland. They also offer special offers on Whisky - giving you the chance to compare and find your favourite. The Staff at The Abbey have always been great and last night was no acception ... the usual friendly greating ... ready to help you through the menu and specials ... and attentive throughout the evening ... so a big thank you for yesterdays service.Any visitors to Edinburgh should put this place on their list of venues to eat at.

We had the best pub food in Edinburgh here. Great quality and tastes. Came again for breakfast since we had such a lovely time. The staff are extremely helpful and attentive. Must go!

Really lovely pub for whatever you fancy. Really nice food, good whiskey selection, really nice and friendly staff without being obtrusive. Had a really lovely evening and really enjoyed the food.

The only reason not giving it 5 stars was after waiting 25mins for food and seeing others served after arriving after ourselves our order was forgotten to be placed..we did get our first drinks free for this mistake so all forgotten about. When the food arrived it was presented beautifully and OMG tasted amazing..so much so we have booked another table for Sunday dinner..Can't wait to taste this amazing food again.

Dont be put off by the outward apperance... this isnt a typical high street pub.... it looks like your typical "local" but the food here is second to none.We ate hear 2 nights (1st & last) of our 3 night stay, quality is right up there portion size is great and value for money fantastic (£42 for 2 mains, 2 desserts & 4 alcoholic drinks). The staff are fantastic and accomodated our changes to menu items with no problems.Karen is attentative & friendly (as are all staff) and seems genuinely interested in giving fantastic customer service."THE ABBEY" has a friendly atmosphere and seems to have the balance just right. The picture is of the edinburger (highly recomended) & steak pie, pint of innis&gunn & vodka & coke.Cant rate this place highly enough, if your looking for a decent meal give it a go you wont regret it

Perfect pub to see France winning against New Zealand for the first time in 14 years.Really good value for money, food is great all day long. The choice of whisky and the possibility to taste some of them for a really decent price should take you there.Take the flight!

Friendly staff, nice atmosphere, proper local pub in town. The food was delicious and timely and huge for that price! Great beer too, and a reasonable bruichladdie for the road from Jordan. Enjoy

Super friendly staff on a easy going pub.The whisky flights offer a great value and experience and the food is absolutely great! It was a shame the kitchen closed before we could get out sticky toffee

This place is amazing! Food is delicious (try haggis bon bon starter) and the whisky selection is good. Staff were friendly and helpful. Photos added-their two signature burgers, were very tasty and the portions are generous.
