Bains Retro Sweets in Edinburgh

My husband and I stayed in the hotel next to this wonderful sweet shop and we were absolutely delighted to see all of the different types of candles available. We were greeting by the owner and he took the time to help us find the type of candy I was looking for along with showing us some must try Tablet and fudge. We loved the experience as much as we loved the candy. 100% recommend going here when in Edinburgh! We just made a purchase on their website. That's how much we loved it and they ship to US!

Disappointed to get there today and found them shut even though they said they open at 10.00. Tried phoning when I was outside the shop and was unable to leave a message. Hopefully they will be open soon

Took my 4 kids in yesterday, very friendly people, great choice of sweets, kids could have spent all day choosing from the selection they had, was great for the grown ups aswell

Amazing, nostalgic shop run by a lovely couple. Plenty of sweets that are sugar free - great for those with diabetes! Also do some lovely Christmas offers, so please check them out by saying hello! Wishing all the best for them in these hard times!

What a lovely man, we happened to be looking in the window as he was offloading his car. We got talking to him and we went into his shop. He was giving us taster after taster. We of coarse bought some sweets. It was like a trip down memory lane. We returned a few days later to reward our kids for completing a treasure trail of Edinburgh. Fantastic place unlike that overpriced rip off Kingdom of sweets on Princes St. Well worth a visit.

The owner is fabulous. He is so kind and offered me to taste some of the sweets before buying. The shop is like a visit to wonderland. High quality and huge variety of sweets. Highly recommended. Very good value for money too. I will definitely come back again.

Fun little shop with LOTS of old style candy treats from your childhood, a few newer sweets and even some locally produced stuff the owner has some samples of their tablet fudge - which was delicious.Prices are good and you can buy some days individually for pennies!
