Bar 50 in Edinburgh

Great bar with delicious burgers. Very friendly staff and perfect service. Great deals on Groupon for Bar 50 but really good value for money all the time. Forget the Royal mile get down to Cowgate!

Cheap and cheerful student type bar under the hostel. Always has sports on as well as pool tables. Food is decent value too.

Can honestly put every star of our 5 star review down to Noel! He was absolutely spot on the whole night being an absolute legend. We were only planning on staying for one drink but loved his service so much that we stayed the whole night. We Would definitely come back again, only if served by Noel. Deserves a pay rise or managerial role.

If you're looking for a place to get drunk on cheap beer and full on burnt food, look no more my friend. Enjoy the carbon crust on your burgers, it'll be the only edible thing in the dish 👍🏼 staff is lovely though.

It was hell Friday. We booked for bd party. But we struggled by alcohol. Bar system is rubbish, way slow. I stayed in the queue for buying pints more than enjoying with friends. But private room was good.

This place was my first home when i came in Edinburgh. I didn’t expect it to be what the vibe is all day long. I planned to stay there for 6 days but i loved the environment so much that i extended it to 12 days. Honestly I used to wake up in the morning, explored the city center and after a tiring day, i was served best beers with best snacks. The best exposure that i have gotten for any city is for Edinburgh and the credit goes to Bar 50.It’s a full fledged students bar with affordable drinks and cocktails and snacks too. The taste is authentic and they will provide sauces as per your wish, any sauce or sides you want is there for you.The staff is so humble and well behaved, that they have been really helpful to me in so so so many ways. I would give 30% credit to their helping hands for an amazing time i had there. Highly appreciated.I would recommend this place to every student out there in Edinburgh to come party and have a great great time with your friends. Whether it’s your birthday, weekends, freshers, fair-well or bachelorette just come and party hard at bar50.Cheers

Prebooked a table here for a group of 12. We picked this place because it was dog friendly. We were seated quickly but it all went down hill from there.The group ordered from a mix of the app and the going up to the bar. The app had not been updated to show the pizzas.Our food took over 1 hour to arrive. When it did arrive there were several things missing from the order and the food was cold. We had to ask for cutlery, sauces and napkins. We were giving almost empty bottles of Ketchup and toilet roll as they had ran out of napkins.After a day of sightseeing around Edinburgh this was definitely not an enjoying meal. The food itself was also below average. The waiter was however very nice and apologetic. We did speak to the manager and ended up receiving a partial refund for our meal.I would go there again for drinks. But certainly not for food.

Went here for the fringe festival. Its a small bar and has a nice outdoors area. They had small time comedy acts but all were quite funny. We had a good night.

Great place, the drinks menu was super varied and all of the cocktails I tried were amazing. They also offer good bar food so you can stay for hours just chatting and having funThey have a section with really comfy couches and an outdoor terrace so you can go no matter the weather.The staff were friendly and quick with all the orders ( even after we ordered A TON of food and drinks)I highly recommend this place to hang out with a group

We spent a few hours here for our wedding anniversary and they were fantastic! Booking a table for a few hours was easy through the app, and the staff were lovely, food was excellent and we had a good range of drinks. We sat outdoors in 25°C temperatures (luckily just out of the sun, or I would have melted) enjoying the fresh air and a drink without masks.All in all, a brilliant bar. Definitely book a few hours there!
