Nice bar with some awesome live music. We went there twice. Friday nice with live music was actually awesome, which made us come back on Sunday evening for a dinner. And as long as fish and meat was delicious - potatoes served with it were frozen, that’s why there is only 3 stars.

A lovely bar! We went for the pub quiz and it was brilliant. Staff were friendly, the bar was clean, there was a fire and the décor is lovely.A good and calm vibe.Drinks are a bit expensive and drinks need to be poured a bit better -amounts are meagre. For example, a Malibu and coke (small glass) are poured half-full with coke-on-tap.This is why it's a 4 star review not 5

Phenomenal pub. Great food. Superb staff. Amazing atmosphere.Went in with a group of friends for food and drinks with a group of friends on Saturday night. I had the steak and ale pie, the pie was more than generously filled and the veg was cooked to perfection. One of my friends was vegetarian so she ordered the Plant-based Haggis Wellington, again a very generous portion and she couldn’t stop complimenting the quality of the haggis. The staff were extremely friendly providing us with banter and entertainment as behind the bar was filled with laughter. We were fortunate enough to stay for the live music which caused the pub to come alive. Everyone was singing and dancing in their seats.

Went for a meal. I had the steak and instead of chips i asked for roast potatoes.I asked for medium rare for the steak and when the meal arrived I was so disappointed. The steak was tiny, very thin and cooked within an inch of its life, the onion rings looked they had been reheated so many times when you bit into one the just powdered away and no onions in them. The roast potatoes were microwaved as they just collapsed when your fork went into them. The meal was so bad I called the server across and explained how bad the meal was and that I would not be eating it. Charging £24 for this they really need to get a grip. They took away my plate and said I would not be charged.I will never return to this place for food again it’s that bad.I would definitely recommend going elsewhere.

Phenomenal place, very welcoming staff and a lovely little venue complete with a fire to keep everyone warm, got a ribeye steak rare and was cooked to perfection which went perfect with a great pint of IPA, nothing bad to say about this place and would highly recommend everyone to go!

We arrived at 5.39 for a 5.30 booking, they had already sat someone else at our table. When I asked if they had a 15 minute grace period, we were laughed at and asked ‘do you usually show up 15 minutes late to everything?’ The booking I made actually says that they do have a 15 minute grace period, so the staff are clearly uninformed. They’re incredibly rude, not welcoming as stipulated on their website, would not recommend visiting this establishment.

Such an underwhelming meal - was looking forward to nice pink beef like the pictures seen on google for this bar. The menu was described really well with rosemary potatoes & proper gravy. We got a meal that was reminiscent of school dinners, reheated cold overcooked beef with aunt bessie’s roast potatoes & Yorkshire puddings, bisto gravy & hard undercooked broccoli & soft overcooked carrots. I would not have minded if they hadn’t oversold it and advertised had pictures that truly reflected the food they serve. However, we narrowed this place down from lots in Edinburgh and quite frankly it takes the p. Don’t know if there’s been a recent turnover in staff, but can’t see how the food we were served would ever warrant 4+ stars.
