Beijing Banquet in Edinburgh

We had a office team lunch here in buffet on 29th April 2022. The food was fab. There are so many items in buffet. Almost all the starters were excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed the food here. I would love to come back with my family. Great !!!

Pretty decent spread, food hot, fairly fresh and a good variety of dishes. Plenty as a starter, main and desert with good options. Three soup choices, I would guess at around 50 main course options and a chocolate fountain ice-cream and cakes plus fritters for desert. Is it the best food no is it the cheapest food no. If I was passing I would go but I wouldn't travel far to get there.

Good Chinese buffet with lot of varieties in Chicken, Pork…. Fish bread and prawns, shells are good sea food varieties ….. Noodles, Fried rice are good… Have pizza as well… Deserts are very good…. Finally ice cream …. Good space for car parking as well…..

Good selection of buffet food, desserts are usually slightly lacking though but this could just be personal taste.I think they often try to seat too many people in the restaurant which means you are sitting extremely close to people at busy times and often bump into others.Staff are friendly and price is decent.

I don't often eat at buffet restaurants (read: never) but due to unusual circumstances I arrived at Beijing Banquet in this part of the city and decided to try it. It was a real experience. It was very busy, even on a Monday early evening, with large groups of people arriving every five minutes.Most of the people eating here treat it as a very casual affair and many can be seen wearing full tracksuits or other loungewear at the restaurant. Diners tend to be quite loud and boisterous, including the children.The food area is in the middle of the restaurant and it's effectively a row of troughs, each containing a deep fried Chinese dish in the same style as you would get from a takeaway. You can take as much of you like of everything, and you can return for more as much as you like.The food quality seemed fine, and everything remained very warm even though it sat out while numerous people took portions from the main tray. For hygiene (presumably) you must wear disposable gloves and I think that's very sensible.Overall, I would definitely not return (hence the 2 stars) because it's just not an environment I enjoy, but I think for many people, and for large families in particular, it can represent very good value for money. It's probably also a very convenient choice if you need to feed a large group of hungry people at speed, as there's no waiting around for food service.

Extremely tasty food, especially at dinner time and on Sundays.

Very nice all you can eat buffet. Staff is polite and professional, meats and sides are all awesome, just desserts could use some improvements. A lot of them seem to come from a supermarket.Update: We have revisited the restaurant today and I can see that desserts have improved. Updating to 5 stars.

Lovely buffet restaurant for family. Situated in a nice location with good parking. Very spacious inside for seating. There were various dishes to choose from however the let down was the seafood section where there was not much option. All in all, food was great.

Good local Chinese buffet with large selection of food and desserts, everything was fresh, well-cooked and well-seasoned, decent number of parking spaces if you’re driving but also easy to reach via public transport. Very spacious and easy to navigate to fill your plates in unlimited amounts!

Lovely restaurant, huge variety of delicious food including pizza, pasta, sushi, curry and of course many Chinese dishes! Quiet atmosphere, polite staff, free parking next to it. Would definitely visit again!
