Myself and my partner had walked passed this restaurant twice daily while on holidays in Edinburgh for a week and on the last day we finally got to enjoy it.The place was buzzing which created a nice atmosphere. My partner got the Carbonara and I got the Bolognese both dishes were delicious and the dessert was amazing. Staff were very welcoming and friendly but a little bit slow when it came to ordering the dessert and getting the bill.Would definitely return and recommend.

My partner and I had been looking at the menu pretty much every day we had been in Edinburgh, but had plans for dinner most days.So we were hoping the opportunity would arise to go in, which it did and our only regret is... that we didn't go for dinner there sooner.

I know better than to act like a Karen but people need to know that the staff who work here are awful, the food took a very long time to be served which is fine and understandable but after we had finished eating and drinking they took away our plates and we were sat there for about 40 minutes hoping someone would come over with the bill, the young waitress was cleaning tables and serving everyone around us, we had our jackets on and it couldnāt have been more obvious we were finished but she was straight up ignoring us at this point going back and forth to tables and welcoming new guests. I saw a few reviews about the staff ignoring people and itās 100% true, it was funny at first but it was actually really rude and dismissive. To top it off she had the cheek to instruct us on how to leave a tip. So unprofessional.

Visited on 17/12 with my partner. Weād previously visited the one in Glasgow and fairly enjoyed it. This restaurant in the chain certainly did not live up to our previous expectations! Once arrived we got our drinks and starters we let server know we had a voucher for a free main which we received in an email, we both enjoyed our starter. Lady serving us seemed lovely, but when the mains arrived she served it and put it down to us, she was wearing acrylic nails and I could see one was touching my food when she put it down and walked away. I couldnāt eat my dish having seen this, so I sat the full meal whilst my partner eat his waiting to grab her attention or her to come over to let her know that I was sorry but I couldnāt eat my main. My partner had finished his main and she still hadnāt came near the table. Iād have rather have grabbed her myself than say to someone else as wasnāt wanting to cause issues for her in her job. I eventually got her over to table but apologised I couldnāt eat it due to seeing her nail touching my food when serving, she didnāt believe me and her attitude changed and ask will she take it away, I apologised once again and she took it away in an awful manner, didnāt even apologise or offer to replace meal. She then continued to avoid our table and my partner was left with his finished meal for 20 mins when I grabbed another server to ask for the bill as by this point we were sick of being ignored and hadnāt been offered a replacement meal, which only having a small starter I was still fairly hungry. It then took 20mins for the manager to then come over and give us the bill, again not an apology from the manager bill given and my meal had been removed. But due to this we didnāt even get to use the voucher so we didnāt save any money as we were always having a free main. We left fairly unsatisfied. My partner also paid extra for chicken in his meal which was on the bill and he only got two small pieces in his pasta. Very unsatisfied with this visit and will not be back or recommend to other people. No apology offered by staff, terrible attitude. We donāt normally complain about our meals, but this one we wouldāve let slide but after the attitude and then being ignored after, we couldnāt not say anything! Worst Italian weāve been to and we have visited a lot of Italians as a couple. I also emailed the restaurant to complain, but no reply showing they do not care for their customers

Good small plates and excellent pizza! The dough bites and mini calzones were great.

The restaurant I would say feels really tightly packed in, isn't much distance between tables (I don't care about Covid distance, just like to have a conversation in relative privicy). Sat right under the bar, and after asking for another drink during meal, I thought, we would get it quickly....nope, didn't receive it at all, but it was on the bill at the end. Server did take it off after advising we never got the drink we asked for. Food wasn't absolutely amazing, at very best just average, starter was better than the main. I probably wouldn't come back to this restaurant. Prices are okay, I got the 2 set menu for £15.

Food was so yummy. Been wanting to visit the restaurant but they closed the restaurants in Aberdeen. So when I got to Edinburgh I decided to try out their food. The mains were okay but really enjoyed the mushroom appetiser. The cocktail was soo good as well

We had spent a few hours out and about Edinburgh enjoying street performances and had tried about 5 different restaurants and bars for dinner. Unfortunately none were keen on taking a family of four or demanded everyone ate a full meal. When we arrived at Bella Italia, everyone was so welcoming and accommodating from the moment we arrived, till the moment we left. Big thanks to the team for a lovely dinner and somewhere we are now likely to visit again when out and about the city. Top marks
