Bites & Pieces in Edinburgh

Great staff, very helpful, great social distancing but the wide open inner café with very little seating, it just seemed rather cold and dismal. But it is for a good cause and should be supported by all. But a little imagination to brighten up the environment would make it an excellent visit.

Food is okay and the idea is great. However, they need a new management. I ordered from here regularly but then stopped. Deliveries were not on time, the boxes did not get picked up (despite several emails and calls), invoices were to the wrong person.

Not only is the staff lovely and accommodating (we were there to film a small documentary for college and stayed for lunch after) but they're also working towards a great cause. The food, drink, and service is beyond great and I love the pay it forward scheme they have going. If you're hungry and want to also help out a wonderful cause of trying to end homelessness in Edinburgh then look no further. Do yourself a favour and get the cheese and bean quesadilla it's mind blowing. The latte is gorgeous and my friends loved their food too (meatball panini, bacon sandwich, and tikka and onion bahji sandwich).

Good breakfast. Tasty coffee. Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. Prices are not expensive.

Delicious homemade food, restaurant quality! I work in a restaurant and the soup I tried here was better than a lot I’ve had before! The staff are friendly warm and welcoming! This is a little hidden gem! And to top it off they feed the homeless daily! So come here! Put your money into a company that really cares!

I just had lunch, it was delicious! The staff were all super friendly and helpful. As I was waiting in the line I was asked if I was wanting soup, this meant it was ready when I came to pay. Really appreciated this as I was short on time. Highly recommend!

Really tasty and delicious food. Lovely staff. And who couldn't decide to choose this place as you are helping people in need. I often buy and extra something for people who need it. You pay for some food or a drink and the receipt goes into a box for someone who cant afford it to receive a well deserved sandwich or soup or drink. Great idea and why can't there be more like this.

Amazing place, I've not eaten here but seen it close from across the road at Valerie's. Watching at the window they donate all they end of day food to the city's less fortunate. They all waited in line and got the food they needed to keep them going. Saw one young family and it just brought a tear to my eye seeing that people have to rely on a company like this to get food. But everyone there was so happy was amazing to see. Keep up the amazing work your shop does social bite. 😍

Love this place! Such a good range of hot food especially - pies with mash and gravy, soups and noodles - and all whilst supporting good causes. They also offer sandwiches, wraps and cold options, but I would far rather have some of their delicious hot food on a rainy Scottish lunchtime. Staff are organised and friendly, and being able to collect points on a loyalty card keeps me returning over and over again.

So this is a great idea - really good food, freshly prepared, by a company who employ and support homeless people. I had the falafel wrap followed by a generous serving of ginger and sweet potato soup and it was excellent.I shall absolutely be going back, its a wee bit more expensive than a Boots meal deal, but its absolutely worth it for the freshness, deliciousness, generous servings and to know the money is going to a socially responsible company.
