I don't generally eat out, even before the pandemic, as I try to save as many pennies as possible for rainy days. I was initially nervous when my group decided to go to Brown's, thinking I was going to be spending a lot for very little. Which is why I've never been so pleasantly surprised in my life that after the fantastic food, brilliant atmosphere and some of the best service I've ever experienced came to a price far lower than I expected! Would absolutely go again, and more importantly I can afford to!

Excellent traditional breakfast, lovely place and atmosphere, staff very polite and quick service

We had a great meal here. The service was great, the tables were very well spaced out. The mains were very fantastic and the desert was amazing. Will definitely be back.

Good staff, perhaps family run as had that Italian hospitality. Although tired they served our unexpected large mix of friends & family well, split bills, no complaints. If it wasn't for the pub opposite being so bad- we'd never have found this lovely place.

One of my favourite places in Edinburgh to go for a fancy dinner. Service from the whole team is outstanding, but I would like to mention Arturo in particular, he is such a great asset for this restaurant. Food is delicious!

I'd like to say a huge thank you to the Brown's Team for making my last week's visit great. Me, my wife and our friends had an amazing time here enjoying champagne, delicious food and a perfect service from Matty. We all look forward to coming back soon!

Service and the restaurant decor was fantastic. Our starters and desserts were superb including the calamari, scallops, sticky toffee pudding and chocolate trio. The main courses though were a big let down. My wife who is a Coeliac had the GF pasta dish. The sauce was quite nice but the pasta had been really overcooked.I had the chicken schnitzel expecting a nice thinly breaded piece of chicken. I got a breast butterflied in half. Thick and bland.Shame.

Excellent meal and overall experience at Browns on Friday night. It is often all too easy easy to seek out the next new restaurant in Edinburgh or chase the next fashionable dining adventure. I have been to Browns before but not for a few years and I was very impressed by how good our experience was.All of the food exceeded my expectations, the menu offered a good range of dishes, the range of wines was very good including an exceptional Hungarian desert wine. The service was quick and friendly - especially given how busy the restaurant was with Christmas celebrations. Well done Browns Edinburgh!

really cheerful atmosphere, i felt so comfortable dining there and if i didn't feel full i wouldn't have left so soon.i ate fish and chips, the fish was divine. however the chips were lacking but what made up for it was this bread (pictured) it was glorious! it comes out fresh and steaming and ready to be devoured.i had an absolutely wonderful time and i will certainly be back. thank you ever so much.

Only been here for drinks which were nice. Due to the covid restrictions was table service only and it did take some time for us to be noticed by waiting staff for a drink but the staff were friendly and brought our drinks quickly once ordered.
