Highly recommend this place when you’re in Edinburgh! Lovely atmosphere with a live band and a classic early 1900s vibe. We came for cocktails which were tasty and beautifully presented. We were shown to our table and our order was taken quickly soon after we sat down, and cocktails arrived in good time! Definitely recommend the cocktails and good service, or even if you just want a classy place to have a tea/coffee while in Edinburgh. Would 100% come again.

This cafe is beautiful in the amazing Scotsman Hotel. Great drinks and vegan options for food. Service is great and ambience is beautiful! Recommended!

A bit disappointed. Here is why (1) We booked a table but when we got there they had no space for us. Had to wait for a table to leave so we can have a seat. (2) Most of our order was wrong including our drinks, sauce, sides and meat cooked preference. (3) everything took ages our food was cold by the time it got to the table, we didn't get cutlery with our starters or mains which took another 10-15min. In summary, expected more considering the beautiful interior

Beautiful afternoon tea in beautiful surroundings. Food was excellent, staff were delightful. Experience only mildly marred by all of the card machines dying at once.

We had an amazing experience, went out for drinks in an extremely busy period We were lucky that the friendly staff at the Grand found a table for us without booking.Good selection of whisky and fantastic tasty and well presented cocktails! If you love them, go for the tree of cocktails!

Couldn't imagine a more perfectly atmospheric setting for our wedding anniversary. Barry and the staff realised and made the whole visit truly exceptional. Food was perfect. Amazing value too.It has become a classic Edinburgh institution. We will be back!

The place is very beautiful and the staff is very helpful and friendly. The meals are very tasty but I don’t give more than 3 stars because of incredibly small portions. I usually don’t mind places with small portions but there’s a line to this. I ordered the main course with salmon and side chips. When I finished I was still hungry and I am not a man with big appetite. I needed to go somewhere else to feel fed. I don’t recommend this place for more than a drink.

Really nice food at reasonable prices. Friendly service. Good atmosphere and vibe. One of the better restaurants in Edinburgh.

Great dining experience at such an iconic building. Beautiful decorations, friendly staff. Had a two courses set lunch with a girlfriend. Appetizers we had duck liver parfait and it tasted good, mussel was disappointing. Main we had chicken breast which is very tender and salmon that is good too. Will come back to try the afternoon tea set.

Lovely venue and atmosphere for a afternoon tea, with tasty and very creative selections of savouries and sandwiches. The pity is on the service. No water was offered until you ask. No explanation on the food so the ice cream melted before we noticed. No extra plates offered for the savoury and scones. And you wait ages to pay the bill. One sandwich came looking like half eaten, the manager explained that is because the bread is not flat. That makes sense but still doesn’t look good to customers.
