Canalside in Edinburgh

Really poor experience today. Tried to order food this morning as we have done many times. Was told the kitchen was being ‘Used today’ but we could get toasties . Ordered two. After half an hour the first toastie appeared. 15 minutes later the second one limped out. Just one very young lass on so I didn’t have the heart to blame it on her. Canalside you’re either a cafe on you’re not. Train your staff in the art of communication too. Have a great day.

Christmas lunch for group of 20 on five tables of four so safe distancing. Food from McKenzies Catering very good and reasonably priced.

2019 had a couple of sausage rolls and a coffee on my way into Edinburgh on a long walk north. Got some phone charge and some calories and a good rest on the way into the city.

Excellent venue for hiring out for an occasion. I've been several time for charity events and it has a great bar and staff who make it very welcoming. They have a little kitchen at the end of the room which good for providing food. Only downside was the toilets which could do with some maintainence, they are looking rather run down at the moment. Overall, would really recommend this as a facility if you are looking for somewhere decent to hire for a medium sized private function.

Nice place, friendly staff. Spoilt by the overflowing rubbish bins outside with food waste scattered around the area.

Great place to meet especially locally. Great views and coffee take your recycling cup as well.

Great coffee and even better cheese and ham toastie, I will defo return.

Nice simple bar. No music and real ales. Local bar

Pretty characterless, but a relaxing place to unwind after a workout or before/after sport.
