Chizuru Tei in Edinburgh

I love Japanese food so much that it is hard to give less than 4 stars.I saw on the menu some twists to the classic starters and rolls. The food was good but nothing outstanding.Service very attentive, careful and friendly.The overall experience was very nice but there are other places competing out there that I would recommend first.

Staff nice and welcoming.Food was mixed bag to be honest - miso aubergine was not very good at all. noodled ok, slightly bland.Sushi was decent.Surprised to see as highest rated Japanese in Edinburgh, have certainly had better.

Chizuru Tei is hands down one of my favourite go-to places when dining with friends/family - I’ve been here countless times. The location is ideal as it’s a 2 min walk from Haymarket train station and there are multiple bus stops nearby. It’s quite small so be sure to book in advance because the place is always busy. The foods are always fresh, well-presented, good-sized portions and insanely good value for money. The staff are incredibly friendly, attentive and quick to act upon any requests. I highly recommend coming here if you’re ever in Edinburgh! Just wow.

Chizuru Tei definitely ranks above average among Japanese restaurants in Edinburgh, yet not the top quality of Japanese food I have had here.Their best come with the rolls - I love the dragon roll with avocado which is always a great compliment to such dishes. We had their tempura twice, first time the batter was really well done and the prawn was quite tender, yet in our second visit the batter was slightly soaked and the prawn came a bit rubbery.Sashimi from the set (3 kinds of sashimi) was fine, both salmon and sea bass were good, they just didn’t offer the best sort of tuna here.

The BEST sushi ever in UK!!! ***Cash Only***We looooovvvve sushi, and of course here has a lot of delicious food in Edinburgh. But this one I gotta say, it’s no doubt to be the best we have tried so far.Environment:Tiny but the decor is lovely. Not so many seats, so better come early or just make a reservation.Service:Friendly! Especially when you’ve ordered too much, they would tried to stop you and ask you to order later after you finish your first orders.Foods were very fresh and delicious. The price is acceptable.Highly recommend this one should be everyone’s checklist if you ever plan to come to Edinburgh.Of course we definitely gonna come back again and again and again.

Visited a few weeks ago.Good-tasting sushi for great value with very attentive service. The owner was so (rightfully) proud of the shop’s *scottish salmon* which they prepare in-house.

Friendly owners, really helpful staff.Food was tasty and reasonably priced. Would recommend! I had the roast duck ramen and tomago nigiri which was £12.70. It is cash only however the owner did mention she would take bank transfer as well.

First time here and loved everything - great choice on menu, food was delicious, evidently freshly made and service was excellent.We ordered a selection of 8 dishes to share (probably didn't need that many) - in particular the prawn tempura and the dragon roll were the favourites.

Very good sushi, lots of options to choose from too. The waitresses and staff are very nice and polite too. Had a wonderful dinner with my family 5/5
