Cowan and Sons in Edinburgh

First time here and very impressed. Seemingly many locals in the cafe . Coffee and homemade lemonade were excellent, nice range of cakes, my wife enjoyed her cinnamon swirl. Takeaway point seemed very busy Recommended, but may need to waitfor a table at busy times.

Very authentic experience for beverages and pastries at a local place in an up scaled part of Edinburgh. Walking distant from the famous Botanical gardens but a presentation that manages to stand out as the place to go on a street with alot of alternatives. Original pastries and hot drinks, as well as light meals are on the menu. Staff are very attentive to customer needs.

A locally run laid back place with “rustic” furniture and decor. Good selection of brunch/lunch dishes and a big selection of home bakes. Just popped in for green tea and coffee. Nice big pot of green tea but the coffee was below par.

You often have to wait for a table- but always worth it. Nice atmosphere. Good coffee (and tea), great food.

Quality/taste below par. Have purchased a few takeaway items from here recently and have been disappointed each time. Frustrating they don't have prices on display, especially since they charge so much. Better value elsewhere

We loved the decor of the place. Service was pretty good.Coffee was par, partner wasn’t sure she got what she asked for. When queried it was engaged on.Food was ok, nothing special. The burger was over seasoned, the eggs were burnt.It all comes at premium Stockbridge prices though. Better alternatives nearby.

Had breakfast here..love the way it's set out just a little bit different.. it's very popular..also you can take your dog there..has lots of great food to choose from.. staff are lovely and cheery ..also you can buy cakes etc..they have an outside widow ..so you don't have to go into the cafe .. millionaire shortbread to die for...

This is a lovely little place. We had already had breakfast so only wanted tea & a traybake. Both were fantastic!. I know it's only tea, but really easy to get wrong - best cup of tea in a long time. The raspberry and almond traybake was to die for!! Great atmosphere, cool interior and lovely staff.

A great variety of breakfast, brunch, lunch and snacks. I got the banana chocolate cakes and croissant. Both were delicious

Cheap and delicious food 😋Banana bread with peanut butter and granola. Son loved it but bread a bit on the sweet side for me. Breakfast brioche and I had smashed avocado with mushroom.Waited outside to get in and limited time to eat. Relaxing atmosphere inside and staff friendly. We will return 😁
