·

Great outside space for a pub in central Edinburgh. Good food, nice variety of beers, friendly staff and great inside space too.

·

Lovely family friendly New Town pub with excellent range of real ales, wines, food with good veggie and vegan options, a garden and childrens' licence until 9pm.

·

Fantastic Steak & Ale Pie (x2) for me and the wife, cooked to perfection. Service was superb. Thoroughly enjoyed by us both.

Very pleasant traditional type Edinburgh Pub short walk from Princes Street Area. Walk downhill down Dundas Street after 10 minutes or so you will see side street Cumberland Where it is a couple of blocks along. It was quiet when I visited which was an early afternoon on a Friday. Had a pint of the Belhaven 80s & a very nice burger & chips for lunch which was qood quality. Pub is a little larger than it looks from outside due to a few side rooms. Nice beer selection & basic pub type menu. My type of traditional looking pub which is worth the short walk away from the crowds & the walk back uphill if you're staying centrally will sober you up !Recommended & I will return.

Went for Sunday lunch, the service was very friendly, it wasn't as busy as I expected. The starters were lovely, recommend the haggis bon bons! The roast beef was very disappointing, not sure if the chef has changed but it didn't taste of much and didn't look like the photos already posted on here.

Excellent bar, good ales, friendly, nice food, giving good sense of safety over Covid precautions

Not for me I am afraid. Whilst it was a great looking old bar, we just felt the guy behind the bar could not be bothered serving, ordered a few pints and our wife's tried to order wine, he said nope sold out. Never offered any alternative all, that was that.Should have just walked but our wives got the menu again and had a look while the barman looked really annoyed for some reason, then I payed and he didn't even say thanks. All the time we were there he walked about glumly and look pretty miserable, very odd!Terrible service, will not be back, shame, we live in the area but more bars locally for us.

Food was delicious. The beef was some of the best I have ever had.The service was friendly, quick and fantastic. This Yorkshire lass was not too dissappionnted with the yorkshire puddings. You should defiantly go and I can't wait to return.

Great selection of Scottish beer and whiskey

Great food and beer selections at this pub! We came here on a weekday evening and it was pretty packed. Luckily the waiters were able to find us a table tucked away in a smaller room. Fun social vibe for both small and large groups. We ordered the 3 appetizer special...get the scotch egg before it runs out for the night!
