Deep Sea - Fish, Chicken & Pizza in Edinburgh

Absolutely shocking. If I could give 0 stars I would have. Fish and chips were dreadful, the batter was twice as thick as the fish inside of it and was absolutely disgusting. Chips were soggy and stale. Avoid this place at all costs. I wouldn’t feed it to my cat.

I think most of the problem is the Halal nature of the takeaway in a Fish & Chip environment, especially in Scotland. No haggis? And really bad music.No wonder the place was empty opposite a major theatre.

Fish and chips was very nice, however it felt like the potatoes were being rationed out, the portion of chips given with each supper was embarrassing.Haggis was dry when served , guess the place is a hit or miss depending when you be likely to get given a fresh batch.Aside for portion sizes , they did serve a pretty decent fish supper.

With having just recently moved into the area in recent months and trying to find a good chip shop for a Friday night treat or a pizza on the way home from the pub! I stumbled into the deep sea!All staff on hand to make sure the best customer service is delivered fresh chips and fresh fish when cooked to order even on a busy weekend can never fault this place!Better than what I had expected for a city centre chip shop! 👍

£8.20 for average fish and a pitiful amount of chips and a mars bar.None of it was *bad* persay but i was certainly overcharged considering a single fish is a fiver. The breakdown of price wasn't available as a mars bar is clearly stated as £1 which suggests the 10 or 12 small chips i got was their excuse for "and chips" which must've cost me a couple quid.I messaged them on facebook to ask if this was standard practice or there was a mistake, or even for a break down of price or anything, they saw the message several days ago and didn't answer so I've left a bad review.Very disappointing to feel driven to leave a bad review, but it left my friend (visiting from france) with an awful experience of fish and chips.Staff who served me were friendly, obviously wasn't the same person doing portions or social media though.There's no way for me leave a picture here but i have a photo of the portion that apparently cost me £7.20 and if the owners want to see it they can respond to this, or they could look at the facebook messenger photo that they have chosen to ignore

Fish supper review.Tiny fish with larger portion of chips.That I could live with but please please..CHANGE YOUR OIL GUYS!!!!!!the stench of old cooking oil in the shop should have set alarm bells ringing.If you are a fish conneseur then don't waste your time or money.
