Devil's Advocate in Edinburgh

Beautiful spot halfway up Advocates' Close, with a lovely outside patio. I just grabbed what I thought would be a small plate and a glass of wine, but it certainly was not small. Their half portion charcuterie board is definitely big enough for two, and had delicious selections. The ambiance was great, with their afterwork crowd really picking up. I sat at the bar and talked to one of their chef's,who was having a shift drink, and a bartender (who are all not hard on the eyes, that is for sure), and they gave me some tips for other places to try in Edinburgh.

Could not be happier with the service and food here. We booked this amazing place for dinner on our holidays to Edinburgh. Definitely recommend the steak, garlic chips and tiramisu. Super tasty. Definitely coming back.

A must-visit for anyone stopping in Edinburgh. Absolutely amazing place with immaculate atmosphere. The drinks we had were amazing and the prices are really good (especially in comparison to London). I’m definitely coming back when in Edinburgh next time.

Food is great and drinks are even better! Friends had the pork belly and burgers, I had the Cid and chips. We also shared the smoked fish. All were great and well prepared.

Delicious meals, have heard that the cocktails also are very good. The staff were professional and efficient. Cool and laid back atmosphere.

A great meal cooked the way I like it to perfection for both myself & my husband. Lovely service from Emily hope I spelt it correctly. A good atmosphere worth a visit in my opinion.

Revisited this bar twice during my stay in Edinburgh. It's modern yet cozy. They take walk-ins for drinks as well as bookings for food. Located down the steps of Advocates Close from The Royal Mile, its still a bit of a secret in some ways. Great cocktail menu and general drinks list with a lot of local brews. I recommend.

My favourite cocktail bar in Edinburgh. Has the quintessential Old Town charm from in and outside. Small standing & bar area for walk-ins but booking recommended. Small cocktail list of classics made well & can ask for others. Negroni was excellent, as was the 20th Century.

Everything was 10/10! Highly recommend the haggis and veal. Good wine, cocktails and dessert also. The fritters were very average but apart from that it was very very good

An absolute must go place in Edinburgh! Not only it gives great pub vibes but it also has a huge variety of whiskies and a particular food menu for all tastes. I've been pretty impressed by the restaurant itself, the friendly and prepared staff and the quality of the food!The place was suggested by locals and it was definitely worth it!At the moment, I recommend to book in advance :)
