Ginger Express in Edinburgh

Not our favourite Chinese but I definitely don't believe it deserves such a low score on here. Food was hot when we got it, nothing made us ill, and we managed to eat it all. Overall tasty. You get what you pay for, it was not expensive and to expect anything more at the price range would be unfair. If I'm in the area, I'd order again.

Went in and everyone was coughing and not wearing a mask, the overall hygiene was appalling with various people walking in and out of the kitchen - also whilst coughing. Food was fine, but the hygiene experience, especially at a time like this, was disgustingly bad.

Absolutely dirty takeaway, pets in and out the kitchen, staff blowing their noses outside without tissue and walking back into the kitchen. Food standards need to pay them a visit.

They used to have the best salt and pepper shredded chicken in town -and we did try quite a few from different places! I cannot see it in their menu any more :(

Gutted!!! Loved the Singapore rice an chips from this place, last order found a 8 inch hair in my main dish . Off putting but accidents happen. Gave a second chance an let down again. Won't be back.Got to give apologises to receptionist. Who dispite doin her v.best admittedly didn't deserve to be dealing with issues from the week before and my v.hungry v.tired worn out self . Sorry . The timin and delevery were rubbish. Sorry folks won't be back.

Amazing food. Recently ordered a delivery from Ginger Express for the first time, after trying a few in the area. We will definitely be returning customers, glad we ordered. Arrived in good time. The food was amazing, great portion sizes and great quality. Would definitely recommend. Never heard of salt and chilli chips, so thought we’d give them a go! Absolutely delicious. A must try! Our go to Chinese! Fantastic service - speedy and lovely staff. Delicious food, always tasty and exceeds expectations. Would definitely recommend, whether as a special treat or for those days when you don't want to cook! The whole family always enjoys a carry-out from Ginger Express.

£3.80 for three spring rolls that were all pastry. No filling. One piece of meat in all three, even though I had asked for bigger spring rolls with meat. Worst I have had in a long time. Only food thing was they were hot.

Salt and chilli popcorn chicken and salt and chilli chips had no salt and or chilli on them at all, disappointing as they were nice last time. Beef with black bean sauce and green peppers is very nice. Rice is standard rice so ok.

First time ordering Chinese since I moved to Edinburgh, certainly won't be ordering from here again. Portion size and delivery time could not be faulted but the food was AWFUL! The satay sauce was off colour and both greasy and water and the chicken has absolutely no taste at all. Couldn't eat more than 2 bites, just threw it in the bin. Avoid at all costs
