Booked Gordon's as we were visiting Edinburgh to see Hairspray the musical. Read reviews in advance while I deciding where to book. We were certainly not disappointed.We did wait a while for our food but it was busy so understandable.When the food arrived I can honestly say its one of the best authentic Italian I have eaten.We had the pizza, pesto tagliatelle and pollo Diane. Recommend them all.Staff were great and the owner introduced himself and asked how our evening was.Definitely found a restaurant we will visit every time we are in Edinburgh.

Good for vegetarians and meat eaters. Great tasty food, flavoursome. Friendly service and a lovely vibrant atmosphere. Totally recommend.

Ridiculously overpriced for what you get on the plate, an ordered dish with chicken and chicken was burn, plus if u like peppercorn sauce no liquid you can order. Salmon was good except that u are getting just rockets salad and chips with it, not even a sauce which I asked abt before order and it was promised that's goin with sauce. Service wasn't really good too

Well overpriced - hard to justify £15 for a tomato pasta (no meat) and £8.50 for a slice of cheesecake. Hearty portions nonetheless.

The whole team were incredibly friendly, the atmosphere was perfect and the food was next level amazing.. would 100% recommend!

One of the best Italian restaurants in Edinburgh. I was last in here over 30 years ago and it's still as good as it was back then. The staff were very courteous and friendly. It gets 10 out of 10 from me.

Truly some of the best Italian food I’ve had, and possible the best you can eat in Edinburgh. The quality of the ingredients is unmatched and you can taste it through the food. Prices are very fair and if you’re lucky and the owner is there, he will give you spicy sauce to add to your food. But be careful, you have to respect it! It’s really hot!

Great spot for lunch outdoors. We didn’t want a lot so opted to share a couple of sides (garlic and mozzarella focaccia, and rosemary potatoes) and it is HUGE. More than enough for two for a light lunch, tasted great too. Food going to other tables looked fantastic. Only minor gripe on the food was that it was very greasy and had to wash my hands thoroughly afterwards.Service was a little slow, but everyone was friendly and it was all incredibly reasonably priced for the location.
