The food here is so good - amazing Chinese food and Paul does a banging fish and chips! Super friendly service from a family business, huge range of malts and good selection of ales. Best food in Balerno and surrounding by far. Make sure you book to avoid disappointment.

Looking at the name, you might be surprised to hear that the Grey Horse Inn is not just a pub - it is also home to the best Chinese takeout in Edinburgh. It's been so incredibly popular with locals since they started offering Chinese food over lockdown that you have call in advance to book your slot. But it's 100% worth it. We've loved it so much that we've sat in a couple of times to enjoy the food too whilst having a pint. And the folks there are always so friendly!

Fab village pub in Balerno. Great choice of real ales..Cozy pub which also has a fab beer garden...plus a function suite for hire. Paul's Chinese Food is highly recommended.. CHEERS 👌

Great small bar that I've been visiting for decades but now with more room and a restaurant. Friendly staff and a good selection of beers. Charming and historic surroundings.

Came here on a whim whilst staying at the Dalmahoy hotel with my wife and son.Service was exceptional, drinks were very good, place is very homely with regulars dotted around the place.Came here for a meal and it did not disappoint.Ordered BBQ ribs, special fried rice, and fried shredded beef special dish.The food here was exceptional, exquisite, tasty and authentic.Sadly we live to far away to come here regularly but I'd say it's the best Chinese meal I've had period. Well done Grey Horse you exceeded our expectations and some.

We visited this pub after staying at JustB. We were not disappointed, amazingly wonderful food. The service from both Jane and Derek (family run) was just wonderful.We will be returning as soon as possible because the Chinese dishes are fantastic in both quality and price.Dog friendly and customer service is wonderful.If you are even staying in Edinburgh then visit Balerno and this pub ! Seriously amazing.
