Hamilton's in Edinburgh

Stumbled in for brunch on a Saturday morning and had a great meal! No waiting time, very warm and attentive staff, and all in a nice homey atmosphere. The food was delicious - we really enjoyed the ox cheek and french toast. Felt local and underrated!

Great place with breakfast, lunch and various cocktail options. We had a traditional Scottish breakfast which was very good and the eggs Benedict was okay. We didn't wait for a table on a Saturday morning/noon so it was ideal.

First time goer. Was surprised it was about 50% full during breakfast hour! The vibe was good and the staff was energetic. Good food, a very nice egg benedict with salmon. Lovely!

We were a big group and we had been split in 2 different tables (this is not a negative point as such). The service was really slow even for the drinks (coffees/ready make juices) and the coffees were not good.Food wise - I had a steak sandwich which was inedible; the steak was overcooked (I wasnt asked how I want it cooked) and not of good quality. The fries that came with the sandwich were too salty and over cooked too.My daughter had scrambled egges which was the worst we had ever had unfortunately.Also - we found the place not kids friendly as there is not a kids menu or a 1/2 choices from the standard menu for the wee ones.Finally, we were told that the table was for 2 hours and around 30min before they forced us by their behavior of cleaning and rushing everything to leave.Personally - we will not go again.

Really nice pub helpful staff, comfy sofa seating by the screens and a separate more formal pub dining area. Dog friendly, good location near Stockbridge, a decent pub.

Absolutely shocking customer service.Booked for 6 people 3 weeks in advance for a family meal after the rugby. We turned up and they directed us to the bar table by the door which had low couches very far away from each other- would have been impossible to talk let alone eat. When we expressed our disappointment to the manager James he very defiantly said ‘ well that’s all we have, lots of people eat there’ he said he couldn’t give us anything else.It was clear they had overbooked and just didn’t have space for us. Really disappointed.

A fabulously lucky find. Great staff, amazing food, very generous portions and a very upbeat, happy atmosphere. We were lucky to get a table, next time I'd book well in advance.

What a great place, staff Really friendly, clean and comfortable, the food was really good would highly recommend,good gluten free options. dog's can go in
