Superb - lovely dishes, well constructed, tasty, textures, I had the Belly pork and my mum the Sea bass. Great value for money

The food was amazing and would definitely recommend the Sunday roast, it was divine. The food is moderately priced and the drinks selection is extensive. Service was a wee bit slow, but it was a packed restaurant and the place is very big but definitely worth the wait. There is also a car park around the back for anyone who wanted to drive, would definitely be returning again.

We love coming here to eat,but was appalled at the way a customer spoke to a member of staff. There is absolutely no reason that any person should verbally abuse staff or anyone especially with working under pressure of the currant situation. We are still in the grips of a pandemic, and planes, trains & buses cancelled or delayed, haulage trade are short of drivers with a knock on effect of delayed deliveries & some shortages etc. Remember this time a year ago all our hospitality was locked down for 4 months. Be kind and courteous to all staff as they are only doing their job. We could not have the steak, but we did have the duo of lamb in which was absolutely delicious and look forward to our next visit.

Lovely experience from start to finish. Booking was simple online. Requested a table by the window which turned out to overlook the rail bridge. Staff were friendly, welcoming and attentive. Beautiful quirky place to spend an afternoon. Food was excellent, fresh, well prepared and tasty. Waiter was knowledgeable on menu and dietary requirements which made ordering easy. Will definitely be back.

Nostalgic, cozy and clean although tired in places. Close to boat trips, train station and a coastal walk to Cramond. Food was very tasty and staff were helpful and pleasant

Visited with my partner and our 12 week old baby. We had booked a table and were given a choice of a couple of tables which was nice so our pram wasn't in the way. Great menu and the food was lovely. Staff were nice but seemed a bit understaffed as we didn't see our waitress much. We waited about 30 minutes to order dessert but she didn't come back so we went up to pay instead. Would still go back though.

The Hawes Inn, circa 1793 restaurant located in South Queensferry has a great selection of food and drinks, a comfortable ambiance with a rustic flair, a cozy fireplace and they also allow dogs into their establishment. If you look closely at the fireplace, you’ll see water bowls and biscuits. And for those history buffs and book lovers, this restaurant is loaded with lots of history and has welcomed the likes of famous authors, Robert Louis Stevenson and Sir Walter Scott. Robert Louis Stevenson stayed here at the hotel and began his novel, “Kidnapped”. Sir Walter Scott also used this location in his novel, “The Antiquary”. Ferries for some of the islands take off out of South Queensferry there are plenty of other adventures that await nearby. I love this restaurant and the location because you can see the Orange Forth Road Bridge and in the distance you can see the Queensferry Crossing, the White expansive bridge. But back to The Hawes Inn, the food is tasty, the restaurant is charming, the ambiance is comfortable and the staff are personable. I highly recommend putting this restaurant on your places to visit.

Fantastic food and a stunning location. Excellent and friendly staff and relaxed but efficient. Love it. I have stayed here too. Would recommend. The seal boat trips opposite are wonderful.
