Heads & Tails Bar in Edinburgh

A fantastic gin bar, so glad we found it. Located underground down a set of stairs you could easily miss it, but it's fantastic inside. Querky and cavernous, it's got a great atmosphere, and an amazing selection of gins, each with recommended tonics and garnishes. Does also sell cocktails and beers. Great staff, and excellent atmosphere.

An amazing selection of gin to try with a range of tonics and garnishes. Detailed descriptions and friendly knowledgeable staff. The food was also delicious. The whole thing was very reasonably priced. Very comfortable and well thought out decor too.

Very disappointed. They do premix drinks. And if you order a good gin you just can’t taste it as it’s gonna be sour or too sweet.The standard G&T is everywhere in Edinburgh. So don’t need to go for G&T and wait to be sitting. As nothing special.Interior was nice.

Would recommend. Not only Edinburgh Gin but many different types with a wide selection of garnish and tonics. Very knowledgeable and friendly staff, great service.

Gin Master Class with Jack was brill. He introduced us to the idea of adding different flavours and smells as well as demonstrating the difference a speciality tonic can make. Cool little bar, unfortunately not disabled friendly with the need to get down a dozen steps outside the entrance. Lots of fun and highly recommended!

Incredible bar with knowledgeable staff and a fascinating history. Can't recommend highly enough as one of the pioneering gin distillers in Scotland

Must see in Edinburgh. It's the bar attached to the local distillery. You can also taste a lot of different gin from other distillery. The inside of the bar is smooth and the staff is friendly and helping.

Lovely quiet gin palace, chilled atmosphere with great selection of gins and "traitor" drinks if you want something without gin for some reason. Staff were really friendly and knowledgeable and the gins were paired with perfect garnishes. Playing some good tunes, loud enough to hear but not so loud that it was all you could hear. Will visit here whenever in Edinburgh.

Morning a distillery and evening a gin bar. Superb variety of Gins to taste ...excellent service and great staff to guide on what to try. Lovely atmosphere to sit and enjoy the evening.

Great underground Gin/Cocktail bar, cool music, great ambience and a few really cool little hides-holes for a couple or a group of friends to sit in comfort and privacy, kind of steam-punk/Victoriana feel with all the Edison bulbs in cages & the old stills behind glass lit in eerie green lighting... welcome glass of fruity water given on sitting, Mrs had the #4 on first page which is kind of like a Negroni, I had a #6 which was kind of bitter & sweet at the same time both had an abundance of flavour and were very enjoyable.... highly recommended if you value substance over cost at all.
