Inn on the Mile in Edinburgh

Finally made it to Edinburgh after 18 month of disruption due to that pandemic. We rescheduled for early Feb to be in the city for the Six Nations Rugby clash with England.Check-in is at the baritself and we were showed to a pleasant first floor bedroom on the front. With the Scottish win it was probably not the quitest room in the hotel that weekend. We didn't bother with breakfast as we prefer to go out and find a local eatery somewhere.Didn't really engage with the hotel that much as there is an external secure door with direct access to the stairwell to the rooms. That said everything was well appointed , clean and working.Never offered a complimentary cocktail though there was a bottle of Prosecco in the room for birthday girl.Stayed x2 nights and was > £440.00 without breakfast so not 'cheap'.

First time I had been back to the Inn on the mile for a while since covid rules were lifted i was only in for a drink it was as i remember friendly bar staff and a good pint prices are very good especially for the high street i would recommend the Inn on the mile for a night out

Nice interior, looked promising and wasn’t busy. Service was really disappointing. Girl on the door seemed confused and left, eventually another waitress took us to a table and said she’d be right back with menus but disappeared. Two other waitresses standing around but failed to come over when we tried to get their attention. It was only when we put our coats on that one came over and offered to take an order, despite the fact we still hadn’t had a menu. Unfortunately we felt the experience thus far was indicative of the service to come so left. Shame.

Average Chilean sauvy served up.New Zealand on bar menu. No explanation till enquiry. Otherwise pleasant visit.

Our flight was cancelled because of the pandemic situation in the UK, the hotel didn’t provide a refund (3 nights) in spite of these exceptional circumstances and didn’t even reply to our second email. Not an ounce of class. To be avoided at all cost.

Food is good here - I'd recommend it as a late night stop! The service was a little confused and mixed some things up with our order but with the weekend rush I can't blame them all to much. The fries and coleslaw here are amazing.

Myself and family booked lunch for 7 on Friday 10th December for our annually Christmas outing. 5 of us ordered fish and chips when they came it was half portions they were mostly batter. I was charged £9 for each of the fish and chips and were the worse I have ever had. We certainly will not be going back again or recommending to anyone. I had to buy food elsewhere for my grandson as they were still hungry. Will not be giving them any stars for our experience.

My partner and I booked a table for drinks and were impressed with the male acoustic duo playing on Saturday 27th November 2021. Lovely place for a relaxed drink with friends / partner.

We hid from the rain in this awesome pub for the afternoon! The servers were all super friendly and drinks were delicious. We definitely want to book to stay next time we're in the city!

If you want a date night in downtown Edinburgh, Room 3 is what you want. It's almost tailor-made to make your romantic stay just that. Huge bed, very comfortable bathroom in dark grey tiling, rain shower, easy access through a side entrance.
