Kampong Ah Lee Malaysian Delight in Edinburgh

Food was amazing and really interesting vegan options (ask for special options)! Wonderful veggie laksa and vegan lamb rendang for the main (both incredible and great portion especially the vegan lamb!). Beautiful roti too. Staff were wonderful and great atmosphere. Will be back!

An absolute gem in Edinburgh! Situated on our way from the hotel we were staying at to the city centre, we were lucky to have found this place on our last day here. The waiter was super friendly and really attentive, and he gave the best recommendations 😊 I had the Laksa soup noodle and the flavours were ridiculously good - like nothing I've ever tasted. The sauce was spicy and sweet and the portion was perfect and all very satisfying (especially after having hiked up to arthurs seat so I had quite the appetite 😅). Highly recommend this place and if I'm ever back in Edinburgh - I will definitely visit here again!

I love this place. I’m so glad i discovered it last year; it has been a regular delivery choice for us ever since. Absolutely beautiful, authentic Malay cuisine which is always delicious when it gets delivered, it’s never been anything less than amazing. 5 stars!

Decent Malaysian food for ok price. Nice and spicy

We walked ALL day before getting to Kampong Ah Lee. My and my sister were hungry. I knew what I wanted Beef Rendang & Rice with Jasmine tea. My sis had Tofu Mapo I think it was. There was a lettuce garnish. We ate the lot. Including the garnish. Delicious. Staff were wonderful. A mom & pop restaurant worth supporting.

A really lovely place with authentic Malaysian food. The main dishes (Chao Koay Teow and Ali special) we ordered appeared to take longer time to cook, but they tasted good. The salted chicken wings were delicious too. Oh, and the place could be packed during busy hours.

Good portion sizes, curry chicken rice and beef horfun wasn’t bad, but was a bit too salty. Hainan chicken rice was ok.... Hard not to compare to food in Singapore/ Malaysia but I guess you can’t expect it to be as authentic as it is there!Also if they would provide chilli (any kind but preferably sliced) as well that would be great! Otherwise feels like something is missing...Also found a couple of hairs in the food— def could get staff in the kitchen to wear caps or something to prevent that from happening?

Amazing Malaysian food and Chinese food. The food here very very tasty and we ordered alot of food. I love the sticky chicken and the noodles so much. The laksa is also damn good. Spot on! The restaurant not that big and it's busy at dinner time. But still.. it's quite comfortable and we just focus on munching the food 🙃🙃 overall we absolutely enjoyed our dinner
