Kims Mini Meals in Edinburgh

Amazing tiny Korean establishment in Edinburgh. Been there multiple times as a student and its pork ribs never fail to amaze me each time. The broth has always been AMAZING and it’s a must try however please choose the spiciness level carefully. The set meals do come with a few starter dishes which were delectable and tasteful as well. It’s a must try restaurant in Edinburgh. Given it’s popularity, one must be aware that there might be a significant waiting time as well.

Overpriced Korean restaurant that offered us only one side dish per person. Not even kimchi. I don’t know if that’s normal in the UK, but definitely not in Korea. The soup is mediocre at the best.

This place is fabulous. Huge portions, homely decor and a lovely, relaxed vibe.

I love these unique boutique restaurants which makes the real original local food Kim’s is one of them and I will definitely try all the dishes she cooks. And the big portions and side dishes were also delicious. I can not forget the taste of noodle with beef. If you are living or visiting Edinburgh this place is must.

Just amazing, so much flavour. Inexpensive and certainly worth every penny considering the portion sizes. Heard it’s difficult to get a table here, but luckily on our first visit we got seated, and served very quickly. Recommend it.

Probably the best Korean in town! I rated it 4 stars because you can't book and have to queue outside, which isn't always a nice experience in Scotland! And you can't really take your time: as soon as you're done with food, the bill comes. So not the best place to relax and chat BUT definitely worth it for the amazing food!

You'll have to queue but it's worth the wait and adds to the excitement. Friendly staff and truly excellent food! Cosy, chill vibes inside, and nice classical music!

Not good but not badI heard of this place 5 yrs ago and never have a chance to come.Finally I came with my partner who is chef for more than 10 yrs and we both travelled lots in Asia before Covid.The reason why I writing this as I want to give a proper review.Environment:100% Korean homy style.When you go in from front door, you will see 6 small tables and each table can sit 2 person.On the left hand side, there is (I believed it’s a box room with a window) odd area that allow two people sitting at the window and 4 people sitting at the dinning table.This “box room” is hot and humid. I personally not recommended.Food:Starter £8 each1) Pajeon- Batter isn’t seasoned, tasteless- supposed have mussels, too small or too less to find them.- dry and no sauce2) Fried Aubergine - Grilled aubergine, with chopped tomatoes, onions, spring onion and sesame on top. Can’t remember what sauce, not impressive. Maybe Korean soy sauce & vinegar?Main course £12 eachSide dishes:- kimchi- pickled spicy radish- fried egg white with spring onion- cabbage pork mince with tomato sauce- meat balls- 2 sips of mushroom soup ( 50ml in a 250ml cup 😂)Many people highly recommended Pork Rib Stew.Meat is very tender with loads of mushrooms and 2-3 small pieces of carrot, onion.I couldn’t finish it even I was hungry as it was so salty. The saltiness covers all neutral taste.Beef BibimbapOne table spoon of beef (maybe less)in this hot stone bowl. Portion is small for £12Share with friends, total we paid £3x and we all weren’t full.Price is high as portion is really small.Very disappointed after all those good reviews.Probably will not return, hope this review could help 💪🏻

Waited for around about an hour in a queue - first time I've ever had to do that for food. Was worth it! Authentic Korean food, glad my friend recommended it. The staff were very attentive and the owner was lovely!

Well-deserved Michelin recommended Korean restaurant. Food were really authentic, even better than most places in Korea itself. Particularly enjoyed their ddeokbokki and pajeon. Always a long queue but well worth all the wait and hype! Definitely a gem!
