Highly recommended! The food is incredibly tasty. Outstanding service, the whale team extremely friendly and with a great attention to the detail!! I will be back soon!

Cheerful staff, a good menu. I had an excellent seafood chowder that needed slightly less cream and slightly more good quality fish stock - very good value though. I was offered more bread without having to asked which is rare these days. An extremely good house white wine.

Familiar environment and delicious food! Prices are also quite affordable

My wife and I arrived at The Kings Wark after a day out in Edinburgh. We were catching the bus back to Leith and decided to stop off at Shore a little before our destination stop. We really were glad that we did. What a warm welcome we received from Dave & Ian at The Kings Wark. So much so , that we decided to have a meal along with our drinks. We both plumped for the Battered Haddock, chips , peas and tartar sauce. The Haddock was large, firm textured and the batter was crispy and perfectly seasoned . The chips were ample and well cooked. The tartar sauce was a revelation. Simply gorgeous. My wife Karin chose sticky toffee pudding with ice cream as desert and I had a 12 year old scotch ( chosen for me by Dave) The perfect end to a perfect day. 👍❤️

Absolutely brilliant. Chance visit when checking out Lieth. Food was inexpensive and delicious, staff were so friendly, and the guest ales were superb. You know it's a good venue when the locals are chatty and kind. We've booked again for more!

Soon as entered premises was asked for a mask which I have no problem about as both myself and husband are exempt .then asked if we had reservation to which we replied we only want to have a drink ..sorry fully booked ..plenty of tables from what I could see...but it's ok we found another establishment nearby who didn't judge and welcomed us into there establishment

Visited this lovely gastropub on a Saturday for lunch following a walking tour of the area. The main seating areas, with views of the waterfront, were either occupied or reserved but we were seated in the bar area at the back. The staff were all really friendly and, before we received our food, offered us a table in the restaurant when one became free - although we decided to stay put.Three of us had the muscles which were gorgeous - although I should have stuck with the lovely fresh bread and butter as the portions of chips we ordered were way too salty. The fourth order was vegetarian haggis which, despite the contradiction in terms, was apparently very nice!Would definitely recommend.

Lovely, helpful service. Great food and beautiful picturesque view from outdoor seating. The beer choice was a bit limited but there was plenty of other drinks choice. It was a very sunny day but a week day so it was easy to get a seat outdoors. I've seen the place packed at the weekend. My friend had the lamb on the bone special which I tasted and it was very tender and tasty, beautifully cooked. A bit pricey for the food and drinks, nearly £6 a pint, but then during lockdown and after Brexit it seems the norm for the capital.
